Brown has be good to our back line development, the players have learnt plenty from him.
Thanks mate best of luck for the future.

Get Bassett!

Time to get SOS? (or as TG used to bang on about, Peter Dean?)

Deany is confirmed as coaching Bullioh in the Upper Murray League...which is about as bush as bush footy gets. I played a couple of years there and toying with the idea of a one year comeback just to play under a Carlton great!

Whilst I really think that MM is leading us in the right direction, I am concerned about the lack of talent in our Assistant Coaches.

Barker has not really developed the forwards, Brad Green has no credentials to be a mid-field coach (and our clearances went backwards in 2013) and now our best Assistant (Gavin Brown) is leaving.

You would think that we need to recruit between 2 and 4 new quality Assistants in a hurry.

Spent the latter part of his career as a forward, but spent many years running through the midfield and was an extremely good midfielder in his prime.

My bad then. Can only really remember him running around the forward line.

I still think we would benefit from some better Assistants particularly with Brown departing.

Was Brown that good for our development?

Barker is a bit of a whipping boy, yet our backs don't set up like the top four sides. The Hawks only have one big defender, yet they always seem to have a third man in as support for their defenders. They also do a great job at blocking and getting in the right spot to allow Lake, Gibson, etc. to take mark intercepts. Perhaps Brown wasn't that good. Just saying.

Been said before, but Basset is the perfect fit to look after our back line. Has done an excellent job with Norwood, it's no coincidence that many of the mature age players picked up at AFL level were coached by him. Knocked back a number of offers from clubs to stay at the red legs last time his contract was up. I believe he would be the best option (not just the best available).

I heard a stat the other day that under Bassett Norwood conceded on average something like 49 and 57 points the last 2 years. (I may be recalling it wrong - it was last week on the radio).

would believe that. Held my beloved Roosters to a whopping 4 goals in the GF here last weekend

Geez Nth have been very busy bolstering the off field side of things.

We had too many plodders in the coaching area, will be interesting to see if we make an improvement on the defensive side of things.

We were originally going to get Bassett but decided to get Tudor once he decided he was returning home.

I look forward to their fans now claiming that not only do they have the best young talent on the field, but the best staff off it.

:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

lol we don't have the best, but we have recruited okay with the picks we have had access to. :p

I remember quite clearly being told for the majority of last preseason that North have the best young talent in the league.

There are a lot of idiots talking about football. How can anyone compete with the handouts given to GC and GWS?
