Sorry, we need to prioritise games for Honey and Durdin. Owies is a case in point. Labelled a virtual bust until given games. I am advocate of gifting games until a player has played 10...otherwise younnever know. A good compromise is for Eddie to remain a rookie and captain the reserves,

The amount of effort he goes to produce garbage stats makes his attempts at trolling too inefficient.
Owies could also be a case in point for not playing someone until they're ready.

A better compromise is to play them in the same AFL team as Eddie and to learn at the highest level.
Needs to begin as soon as we're officially out of finals contention.
I love Eddie but last year he was diabolical.
Every time the ball came near him he was fumbling then constantly trying to kick “goal of the year“ instead of doing whet the team needed him to do. I.e. the basics.
IMHO he was being very selfish and setting a terrible example for the younger players.
He’s playing much better this year, adding a lot more value to the team.
Based on last year he was definitely a bust.
Based on this year - recent performances have been great and just what the club needs from a veteran.
I hope it continues.

Greene is way above the other small forwards, mostly because he goes into the midfield at times.
Does Betts really have half the output of other small forwards?

Remember that Owies is in his 4th season and is 24 years of age. Not quite the right comparison with Honey and Durdin who are 2nd and 1st year players respectively. It will come.

Happy for Eddie to keep going whilst he is contributing which he most clearly is.
Wouldn't mind him having a week off every now and then to freshen him up. Seems to get pretty sore in game these days. He could actually do a bit of on bench coaching at the same time.

Deserves another year. The general of the forward line. Great for the cohesion of our indigenous group. Blocks for the big forwards. Lots of pressure, defence and score assists. Great for the young small forwards to learn from. Output is well up on last year. Bobs up for the big moments. Love him.

love Eddie, thought he should have hung up the boots last year .... I was wrong ... give him another year ... 10 games plus finals next year. best decision the club could make for going deep into the finals next year

This could very well happen, I don't think that him playing on would be holding anyone back in any way. If he played half of the senior games and half in the reserves it would still probably be worth keeping him on as a rookie.

Looked done at times last year but has bounced back strongly. Wonder how big a toll hub life took on him.

Eddie was always a true forward pocket goal sneak and has spent little time up the ground, so you cannot compare him to someone like Greene at all, and you sound like a glass half empty type to me as Eddie has been much better this year than last year. It is time for him to step down now, but he has brought a lot to our club especially that character of his, and at 35 (almost) has done well to still be contributing, so chill out and see him for everything he brings, not just cold hard stats.....
I know it's the right time. But I'm still sad. Assume they're waiting on the outcome of the review before deciding on a job at the club (haven't read the thread so apologies if someone else has posted info on that).
