His courage & ability to run when others couldn't in big games for us is written in club folklore in my opinion. I've heard he has had a few challenges since retiring but regardless if it has been on the radio or in person always comes across a very genuine sort of bloke. I often see him out on a run around Albert Park Lake and he always gives me a nod or a little shake of the head with a grin to acknowledge me. It has always made me think he doesn't know me from a bar of soap but a Swans 2005 premiership tattoo on my calf and a sometimes worn old and battered Swans cap always seems to strike this reaction. Always gives me that extra bit of motivation to push those 61yr old legs a bit harder whenever I see him because its obvious he still bleeds red and white and appreciates everything about the club's history and the things that make it tick. The 2012 grand final when he took that mark while being crushed by Hale and of course that goal in the 4th quarter.
**** I loved Hanners.
He said he wants them backI've actually got his Prelim jumper and boots !

I was across the road earlierWolfie, you didn't happen to be at Middle Park Bowling club on Saturday afternoon about 3pm did you?
My son in law had barefoot bowls for his 40th birthday party there on Saturday and as I walked through the club, there was a bloke with a Swans tattoo on his leg and a very much loved Swans cap on his head. I was actually going to stop and chat to him but we were setting up so my daughter's would not allow it! When I read Wolfie's post I thought it may have been him.I was across the road earlier

A lovely little club, we had a brilliant time.
Actually I was Out running around Albert Park Lake on Saturday at that time Jewels. I run on the road around the Grand Prix Circuit which on Pit Straight takes you past Middle Park Bowling Club. Was an old haunt of mine for many years but haven't been inside for a light refreshment in recent times. Having said that I have a few associates still frequent the place. Less than desirable associates I should have said !Wolfie, you didn't happen to be at Middle Park Bowling club on Saturday afternoon about 3pm did you?

Just as an aside - Would you know who the footy team was that wore the old Souths jumper that trained a little bit further up the main straight?Actually I was Out running around Albert Park Lake on Saturday at that time Jewels. South Districts were at the city end and after the rotton Grand Pricks came in they are now at the St Kilda endJust as an aside - Would you know who the footy team was that wore the old Souths jumper that trained a little bit further up the main straight?
Yes it was South Districts a club I played the majority of my footy with that Played at Oval 1 Aughtie Drive. There were Ovals that run all the way up Aughtie Drive from the city end to the St Kilda end where it meets Fitzroy St as Bedford said.Just as an aside - Would you know who the footy team was that wore the old Souths jumper that trained a little bit further up the main straight?
