Was an awesome finish, great carnage after round 1 as well ha ha. The Eubank fight before it was great as well, if anyone thinks boxing is boring they should watch those two fights.

Watched both Boxing and UFC yesterday and the boxing for me was so much more exciting! just cant understand why everyone loves the UFC so much now!

People will always enjoy a stand up war more than a grapplefest, whether it's boxing or MMA. Shame that Mayweather v Pac was the fight most casuals watched, when the week after Alvarez was in a barn burner which everyone would have enjoyed, even his fight against Cotto was great to watch as well.

I'm not going to get into this debate, however the Joshua fight was very enjoyable!

Is it me or is Foxtel showing more free boxing in the last few months ?

Maybe no one is buying the ridiculous ppv fights that where shown on main event so they are just buying them and showing them or maybe its Al Haymon and his PBC push to get boxing back on the map.

Either way hopefully this trend continues. I remember when I first got Foxtel it had great fights on for free all the time. Prince Naseem, Roy Jones, Riddick Bowe etc then ppv came and it all went on there.

I will be watching

Disappointing that the Haye fight isn't on considering it has an Aussie Involved!!!

What do you expect. We get shafter so f***ing hard with boxing it's disgusting. We have to pay $30 for non PPV HBo cards ffs.

Most excited I've been in the HW division for a decade.

  • Haye comeback. Even at 80% of his prime he can have a great 2nd career. Big power and great fun.
  • Wilder. Lacks technique. Doesn't like to get hit. But can knock you out with any punch. The most exciting thing is that he could lose to any top HW but he could also probably KO any top HW if he connects.
  • Fury. Well. Fury is an entertainment machine. Has flair and is one of those rangey guys who actually uses his range (unlike Wilder). I hope he beats Wlad in the rematch. No one wants another 5 years of that crap.
  • Povetkin. One loss to Wlad. But has looked great since. He is a great fighter. While I don't think he is the time that can take home all the titles and dominate the division... I feel like he's the guy who you will want to beat to prove you're for real. And I think that's perfect because he will show us the pretenders.
  • Joshua. Let's talk potential for a second. NO ONE in boxing today has more potential than Anthony Joshua. Let's hope he gets some next level opponents in 2016 because there hasn't been a most exciting potential HW than him in a decade!

I think Haye will blast Joshua out if they fight, also fancy his chances against Wilder. There is footage of Haye getting the better of Wilder in a sparring session (leading up to the Fury fight, which fallen through). I am not entirely sold on Joshua yet, he definitely has potential, but does look a bit chinny, Whyte rattled him during their encounter, and a better fighter would've had him out of there. Joseph Parker is another decent prospect (although probably more than a prospect now), and I see a fight with Parker vs Joshua likely to happen down the track, that will be an interesting match up.

It is good to have Haye back in the mix though, he definitely looks bigger these days, and that is a good thing. He looked undersized last time around, and didn't really look as though he belonged a heavy. So touch wood he can stay injury free, I'd like to see him try and avenge his loss against Klitschko.

Was going to add Joseph Parker as well, and would like Lucas Browne to contend at some point. Unsure how he'd go at this level but he should manage to at least get a big fight.

I was in a bit of a rush but yes. Damn right Parker is a gun as well.

Haye is going to shake up the division. He's a lot bigger now so me thinks we will see him knock a few buggers out. Joshua does have a suspect chin BUT. He's definitely not too chinny. He took some big big shots in amateurs that didn't drop him.

Parker vs Joshua would be huge. Literally. Both big, big guys. Big power. Active guys too. Neither seem too hesitant to engage.

Another Parker/Horn card on the weekend for free Sat arvo, good news. Haven't checked the odds yet (work block betting sites) but I'm imagining it's another expected win for Parker, surely he'll have to go OS to find some better competition soon.

I'm so excited for this. Parker is a jet. You're right though. If he wins, he HAS to go to the US and fight some bigger names. I want to see his chin tested. He has almost everything else going for him!

Garcia vs Guerrero on Sunday too!

Browne is fighting Chagaev for a version of the WBA world title! if he wins that it should open up some big pay days

Luis Ortiz last fight was pretty impressive against jennings

Kovalev. Seriously incredible. One of the most methodical one sided fights you'll ever see!

Canelo Alvarez. 160lbs Lineal champion who fights at 155lbs has now ducked the concencus #1 at 160lbs GGG to fight a 140lb glass chinned Amir Khan.

Disgraceful. Hope Khan Mayweathers this pussy.

Quite ballsy of Khan to take this fight, not so much of Alvarez. But then again, I wouldn't mind taking a dive or getting KO'ed for 7 figures. But if Khan pulls this one off...

Khan vs GGG unification. Methinks that would be the end of Amir's career!

I don't think he'll (Khan) will get past Canelo. If he does, GGG maintains he won't go down to 154 - for a Khan fight, and that he (GGG) would've only went down to 154 for a Mayweather fight.

From my understanding, Canelo's middleweight belt (160) is on the line against Khan (even though it is taking place at 155lb). So, if Khan does win the belt, we'll have GGG unwilling to go down to 155lb to fight Khan, but expecting Khan to jump yet another division up to 160 (middleweight). Considering Khan will have the middleweight belt. Khan is a true super lightweight (140), and has only had a few fights at welterweight (147). So for GGG to demand Khan jump up to 160 (if he defeats Canelo) is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous considering GGG isn't willing to even go up ONE division to fight Andre Ward. Ward certainly doesn't have that problem, he is now gunning for Kovalev. I think Ward (even though inactive) is the best fight in the world.

On another note. I look forward to the Quigg Vs Frampton fight (UK fight), the face-off was quite interesting.

Great post mate. Agree with everything you said. My post was more in jest in how one sided a Khan vs GGG fight would be considering khan's chin.

Ward is 100% top 3 in the world for me too. Hopefully he goes well despite the inactivity. If the Kovalev fight does happen, I can honestly say it will be hard for me to watch. I don't want either guy to lose. Ward is a freak though. His ring IQ is second to none.

For me, top 3 in the world at the moment in no order are GGG, Kovalev & Ward.

Quigg vs Frampton is going to be unreal. Honestly fight is being slept on by almost everyone but real hardcore fans.

Yeah, these are the type of fights I look forward to. Same as the Canelo vs Cotto fight. I like those fights, they are 50/50 fights. I think boxing is heating up with some good fights now, the heavyweight division is also starting to crank up - entering 2016 it is probably the most exciting division. I know I am a little off topic, but after 2016, we will have a clearer picture in the heavyweight division. I think now Floyd has retired, we'll see a shift away from the welters (at least, interest wise).

I think the two best fighters in the world at the moment are Ward, and Roman Gonzalez (flyweight). But, I think Lomachenko could be the most talented. I really think he'll be the consensus p4p no 1 come 2018. Which is getting ahead, but he probably is the best fighter in the world atm, but its hard to throw it out there, when he can't land the fights to prove it.

But on GGG, I would've liked to see the Saunders fight (Saunders Vs GGG). I really want to see how Golovkin reacts to movement. Floyd seems to think Andre Ward would have an easy time with Golovkin, and I tend to agree. But, if that is the case, then he'd at least struggle with the movement of BJS (Billy Joe Saunders).
