What bravery?

Cherry picking a chinny WW at 155lbs and ducking his mandatory in GGG since he's held the MW title?

I don't care about all the prior catchweight ***t, if he steps into the ring with GGG at 160 he has my respect.

My mistake thought you mean he HAS your respect for fighting Khan! Agreed. If he fights GGG at 160 then I'll respect him.

Don't think that'll happen.

It seems like Canelo wants it, it's just a matter of whether ODLH is prepared to risk his cash cow suffering an early round blow.

Since he's already approaching 50 professional bouts and history says after that point you don't have that many big paydays that doesn't seem like the best logic to me.

I don't follow boxing that closely, so I might be way off with this. I think Golovkin and Alvarez will fight at some stage. The only issue is how long everyone has to wait for it. Nobody wants it to be forever like it was with Mayweather and Pacquiao.
Good thing is Canelo's heritage. Mexican fans will demand the fight as well. If Canelo doesn't fight Golovkin then the Mexicans will jump off in huge numbers.

ODLH was a great fighter and a hard man but I'm cringing when I hear him speak as a promoter.

Sorry if there's a good spot for this other than this thread, but just curious on people's thoughts around the heavyweight ranks at the moment.

I grew up enjoying boxing in the 80s when Tyson was still good (ie. not the weird fat one we have now) but lost interest in the sport a while back. Recently got back in the gym and started watching again, but I wouldn't say I'm very knowledgable about the sport.

Looking at the current heavyweights, it seems likely to me that Fury and Kiltschko may not be around that long regardless who wins the rematch - Klitschko purely on age, and Fury because I'm dubious he can keep himself in shape.

After that my impression is that Wilder is the best fighter out there, but I'm also interested in Parker and Joshua's chances in particular.

Also wondering is the division in a shape these days where we'll actually get to see the big match ups play out?

IMO Wlad will beat Fury and show he's still #1 then retire soon after. Joshua is the best of the rest at the moment. Parker has the talent to go far but he needs a step up in competition. Hughes Fury could be up there too. Fantastic athlete.

Wilder has a big right hand but he's a pretty horrible boxer. I think he goes to sleep against Joshua or Parker. He's Chinny and can't box.

Honestly I can't stand Tyson Fury. As a personality or in the ring. He's just big. That's his best feature. He's big and awkward. He hits the floor constantly and has pathetic power for his size. Honestly feel like he win over a broken Wlad. Think Wlad will KO him early in the rematch.

Canelo vacates. Honestly knew it. This guy and De La Hoya are pathetic right now. What a blight to boxing this team is becoming.
"Golden Boy"... lol
More like turd nugget...

Honestly so shortsighted from the formerly Golden Boy.

not quite a duck yet! but i think its going to be! really hope not! Wouldnt mind GGG taking Saunders belt now instead!

It's 100% a duck. He dropped the belt so GGG isn't mandatory anymore and he doesn't need to follow the 160lbs limit. It's a reason for GB to throw out ridiculous negotiation tactics.

Anyone watching Parker v Takam?

Big fight for the division IMO. Huge test for Parker. Let's see if he has what it takes.

Yeah Im gonna have a look if I can get the stream up. Just over an hour away.

Picked Takam by early KO.

What a fight that was. Very god damn impressed.

Parker is green, he's got a lot to learn. Very defensively open. But god damn, what a chin. Also showed the ability to change gameplan mid fight which is something a lot of fighters lack. I think he stayed calm and that this is a HUGE learning experience and the Heavyweight division looks amazing for the future!
