Crazy how the fight went from the ref nearly calling it a fight at the end of the 9th round to Horn winning 117-111 on one of the scorecards

Another big Australian fight, another strange result.

Credit to Jeff, he kept coming at Manny and did a great job in the early rounds, Pac just didn't have quite enough in him to knock him over. Should have won the fight, but I had it pretty close.

Don't understand this. Atleast in the rematch Horn would get paid more. He got paid 500k and Pac was getting millions. Also Horn has earned a lot of respect and is noticed now.

Yeah, I'm talking from my perspective as a boxing "fan" (not sure what I am these days). Of course they'd be getting lots more, but I'd rather not see it when we all know how it's going to turn out again. If they couldn't award the fight to Pac on this occasion, I don't know what else Pac could be capable of doing at his age and state that could convince them

We'll very likely see head clashes again in another fight, Horn being the aggressor, Pac being a bit more conservative in the later rounds, and another home town victory for Horn

Horn would be crazy not to be happy with a rematch. He seemed pretty keen on it after the fight and I'm sure he will be tomorrow and the day after. But it's Pac's decision and I'd rather he not, for my heart at least

I'm stoked for Horn, think he's a great guy and good for Australian boxing.

But this kind of result just leaves a huge stain on boxing, not that it's lacking any

I didn't think Rd 9 was 10-8 as you said Pac took too long to get going was only the last minute and not putting Horn away hurt him. The 117-111 was a little absurd, but the 115-113 was fair.

Given the odds plunge during the fight wouldn't rule anything out.

seven rounds to five was a fair call. it's not a tally of punches but of rounds, and it's not the number of punches in any round but the impact. add horn being more aggressive in most of the tight rounds and it's a fair result from two of the judges. well done jeff!

I'm always wary of compubox and this fight is a perfect example of why. At the end of the day they are subjective. It's people pushing buttons based on what they see. Also Pacquiao went to town in Rounds 8 and 9. That's where most of the difference would have come from. It's not hard to see how Horn won enough rounds to win this fight but I don't expect people from one of the most biased fanbases in sport to understand this.
