apparently not waiting around to find out the results of that

can't blame them, after hearing what overeem's response is most likely to be

@danawhite
And whatever jackass said Anderson silva would be stripped of his title is a liar. He is fighting Chael and there has been no issue at all!!

Dana hinted that Aldo could fight on the Brazilian card instead and they'll run in a smaller arena on the same night. Moving the fight to Vegas may still end up as a debacle even if Silva takes the fight. Kizer is still pissed at Sonnen for the lies Chael told the CSAC about him at his hearing in 2010.

Sherdog has an article saying that UFC 147 is expected to still take place on June 23rd but in another arena. Why couldn't they keep Silva/Sonnen on that card?

Dana just said on twitter there's been no issue with Silva. Is that frontrowbrian guy usually right? Because I find a lot of that stuff from him that you posted alfy hard to believe.

Edit: Realise now they wouldn't want Silva/Sonnen in the smaller arena in Brazil and would rather have it in Vegas.

Smaller arena. Wasted if Silva/Sonnen was on the card.

frontrowbrian has a recent history of being early and right, but he may have just got bad info this time

Hate the JDS/Mir fight. Mir's the biggest name available, he's won three straight and he's stopped Junior's hero/mentor twice, the problem is that it won't be at all competitive. Mir is plodding and has a weak chin, JDS is quick and has heavy hands. The fight itself will be over inside two minutes with Herb Dean pulling Junior off a limp Mir.

Who fights Cain now? Werdum's the only suitable name that's available, and he'd be silly if he still wants to fight Russow in Brazil in a smaller arena over fighting for an almost guaranteed title shot if he gets by Cain.

I agree, don't like Mir's chances at all. Mir would have to take JDS down straight away to have any chance of winning and I don't see that happening. Stays standing and JDS will finish him quick.

Werdum is the only guy that makes sense to fight Cain right now. Cain said if Mir was to fight JDS instead of him he wants a fight that if he wins will see him as the number 1 contender.

Who was Werdum queued up to fight before these developments?

It'll be interesting to see who Cain goes up against, or if Hunt will get a call up onto the card.
Werdum is set to fight Mike Russow in Brazil.

As of Friday night, the UFC has yet to sign an opponent for Velasquez. According to sources, Fabricio Werdum is not being considered for Velasquez. It appears as though they are hoping to move someone else from the 146 card up to fight the former champion Velasquez, however, considering all the moving parts here, nothing is set in stone.

If what they're reporting at mmafighting.com is true then maybe Hunt gets bumped up.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if Overeem gets the Cain fight if his hearing goes well. If not him, I think Roy should get the call rather than Hunt. I think Cain wins either fight, but Roy's combination of power and BJJ makes for an interesting fight. I could see either Rosario or Gonzaga then getting bumped up to the main card to fight Bigfoot with the other guy either getting a late replacement or fighting at a later date.

Agree that Junior gets dragged off a limp and bloody Mir inside 3 minutes.

yeah and got picked apart and put away
My point was, that at least he has experience with the unorthodox elusive strikers. Obviously that fight didn't go well but at least he'd know what to expect and would maybe in hindsight from that match - learn a little bit about how to counter move.
