Cause "God" and evolution are 2 different things. One is a scientific theory and the other is just an idea/hypothesis. This is ridiculous that you are even arguing that. Show the evidence of god's existence and not by saying what you think..show me. God is not within the realms of science and subject to human interpretation and perception. Evolution is NOT

What, exactly, geographically and chronologically would we find it, were we of a mind to do so? I've never had an answer to these most basic of questions from a believer in the notion of other worlds. How weird are they?

The OT has some merit as an epic novel. Without some knowledge of it and the issues it addresses, it is impossible to understand the Western canon as it is writ to this day. The NT, on the other hand, is a farrago of lies and is a deceitful, failed public relations exercise. It is a travesty that I have mentioned those two books in the same paragraph. Neither is worthy of them being embraced as a life-destroying and denying obsession though. They are books, FFS. One somewhat interesting, the other not nearly as much. That is all.

There is something perversely wrong about worshipping a deity of which there is no evidence. I feel sorry for you that your happiness is built upon a belief, albeit completely unfounded, of an omniscient and omnipotent God.

What's worse - you can't even see the evidence in your own book that your God is a narcissistic, psychotic, megalomaniac who's petty, jealous and blood-thirsty. And he banishes one of his Angels to hell for merely questioning him.

You might think that your happiness in isolation doesn't harm anyone. It's not you, the individual which does the harm. It's you and billions of others, the collective, which cause harm to humanity by subscribing to unsubstantiated rubbish and suppressing human progression.

You're contributing to an 'intellectual' discussion on "God" by posting in this thread. As such there are many who are suggesting that arguing the existence of God as 'truth', using faith alone is intellectually dishonest. In other words the truths of religion are unknowable through evidence and reason. You have to suspend reason to believe in many religious claims.

Faith is what you use when you don't have knowledge. If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then some would suggest that the assertion can't be taken on its own merits. If faith is valid then anything goes. Any assertion, no matter how improbable or fanciful is then valid.

There doesn't appear to be any evidence for a god, no coherent definition of a god, no good argument for the existence of a god and no agreement among believers (those that rely on faith) as to the nature and moral principles of a god. And beyond all that, there is no need for an imaginary god. Millions of people live happy, productive lives without believing in a 'god'.

And the rest of your post is understandable, but its were faith comes in. You look at it as intellectually dishonest and things. and i see what your point is. But for me its easy to brush it off with my faith.
Im sure ill cop some more insults from certain posters for being so "stupid" or whatever. But Im happy with it.
It isnt blind faith. I wont just do whatever the church tells me. I still question things. I question the bible all the time. But, the idea that i might be wrong, doesnt keep me up at night. and at the end of the day im happy. so who do i harm?
