Fiorini is legitimately a good level AFL player and all of them are AFL capable before their primes.
I said on the gameday thread but this Suns build feels much more real than the previous Suns build. Originally they went for skillful players who all were slight of frame and got bullied off the ball. This time they have drafted/traded in some real grunt.

I always had confidence of Gold Coast under Stewie Dew. The one mistake he made was unloading Lyons. Otherwise he's cleared out those who didn't want to be there and is now weldinjg a strong playing style onto a fabulous list.
All of that was quite obvious while it was happening, just that it didn't catch anyone's eye. It's still an inexperienced team, so it'll be a couple of years before they make their presence felt in finals.
Off-field is more of a worry. They are the league's most vulnerable club so let's hope they can build memberships out of this burst of good form.

There's that too but it's not really a tangible commodity. It's really only useful if we have high end talent coming through our academy which really comes down to luck more than anything else. To date, we've only had one first round pick come through our academy in our 10 year history (2016 Pick 10 - Jack Bowes). Having said that, if we continue to win like this then I'm sure they'll take that off us as well and we'll go back to the way things were last year.

Wonder how they will go with quarters back to regular time.
Strip them of the other PP's, and make them pay back in points the one they already traded from this year. There was zero justification to give them concessions last year.

Almost every side is different after quarentine. To say quarentine hasnt had any effect on teams is just ignorant. GC are a different side in round 1. I guarentee if your side hadnt played them, youd think alot differently. But you seem to be smug in your observation
This coming from a melbourne supporter over the years priority picks, over inflated compensation for frawley, afl coaxing roos out of retirement to save your club, dodging afl sanctions for drug use etc.

In fact, you were pretty active in the Prediction - Gold Coast Suns will fold by end of 2022 season thread a month or two ago.

Exactly. Its not some backs to the wall triumph. Its incompetence being rewardes to the point where its harder for them to fail than succeed. Surprised more people haven't been saying this, perhaps they will when they become really dominant.
AFL have shoved in so much rocket fuel this time surely its going to take off.

I stated last year the Suns are no different to any other club, they finish last, they get the number one pick. They didn’t need all the other concessions. Why did they get treated differently to say Carlton who had 2 wooden spoons in that same time period?
