We always get Adelaide's weather, so tomorrow will be a stinker as well. I think I'm going to the beach tomorrow night. I wanna go tonight.

You sometimes get our weather. For example, the 7 day outlook has us not dipping below 38 where as Melbourne has a forecast for the mid 20's during that period.

For example, during the March '08 heatwave Adelaide's temps were -

35.4
35.7
37.9
38.5
39.0
39.8
40.2
40.0
38.4
39.2
39.7
38.6
38.3
39.9
40.5

Over the same 15 days in Melbourne the temps were -

33.6
24.1
28.2
23.9
24.6
31.2
33.4
38.5
22.6
27.5
38.7
39.2
28.5
39.1
38.4

You get much greater temperature variations than we do and cool changes you get often miss us completely.

Just said at the tennis that Melbourne has just reached the forecast Maximum of 41 and they are going to close the roof on Rod Laver and all outside courts will stop at the conclusion of the set in progress.

tx mate. i was looking at a "Latest Weather Observations for South Australia" page which appears to be a bit slow, whereas your link is "Latest Weather Observations for the Adelaide Area".

You would have to guess that Adelaide will easily hit 45 today. The max is usually recorded later than now.

the bolded page is always a bit slow thar.

Have noticed it is now 40 or over until sunday. i believe this will be the longest run of 40+ days since 1908.

Since when is extreme heat classed as good weather? You can't actually do anything in those conditions. It's shit. I'd rather a nice 25-30 any day.

Come on mate. Don't come on here and spoil a good dick swinging contest. :) ;)

For the record, Adelaide passed the 45 mark just before 1.30.

I'm going to do what Homer does in the Simpsons and connect a tent to the fridge. Genius.

Pretty profound stuff from the weather channel.

"We'd encourage viewers not to stay in the sun for very long unprotected"

"It would be wise to drink lots of fluids"

"In this hot dry heat, there may be an increased risk of bushfire"

The the 'meteroligist' in the tight shirt and from the comfort of an airconditioned studio has the temerity to tell us to minimise our use of AC systems.

45.5 degrees in Adelaide now. (114 Fahrenheit)

Pushing towards the January record of 46.1 degrees(in 1939).

Just under 42 in Melbourne.

SA Health says use your air conditioner.

my weathergauge stops at 40 (here in lara, geelong) and it has a little bit more above it (so you could probably write 45 on it), and it went right to the top!

The hottest temperature ever is 59 degrees celcius in Libya 1922.
Just imagine that. You'd be burnt to a cinder in a matter of minutes.

i'm gonna call it. Melbourne and Adelaide won't get any hotter today

41.9C in Melbourne
45.5C in Adelaide.
