Watts played back more the. In a couple games but I agree was pretty good especially when thrown forward. Good mobility, skills and a good set of hands will be a gun without a doubt.

...
Took some great contested grabs in the forward line, kicked come very nice goals, all while playing to a crappy gameplan that clearly didn't reward forwards...
The gameplan was based on rebound & breaking into space; didn't work for Knights nor Bailey; it's a dead duck for now.

There was a lot to like about Watts' year. Playing any sort of good footy is a good thing for a stick and he did that. 2011 will have given him some confidence, but still not the target you want/need.
I think Melbourne need to just neck up, play him as a legitimate, one-out target for a year or so, and accept he will cop the odd beating.

are you not concerned by how one sided he is thou? think he's a solid player but makes scotty lucas look like a dual sided dynamo?
Lucas couldn't handball either.

Myers is one-sided, yes - the right is a 'get out of trouble' kick and that's about it.
I dunno if that's the worry it once was, though. Only a very few legitimately kick both sides. I just want to see him get the ball, take it on, and see him prepared to back himself & yes, occasionally run into trouble, and yes, sometimes make mistakes.
That's his game, running the show, and creating.

Yep, can't count the amount of times we'd create the turnover in the back half, only to have not 1 solitary target in the F50

why Watts wasn't played 1 out for a large part of the year, I'll never know

Still on the Dees.. theres a kid named Tom McDonald (194cm KPP) who was drafted as a late pick last year.

Has showed some surprising signs at Casey already, and has been running ahead of the best mids already this preseason.

Could show something this year or next.
