2000 was a very strange year when we won we absolutely belted teams , remember Scott Cummings kicking 25 goals in 3 weeks.
He had a great six week period where he struggled to draw a football, kicked a bag, couldn’t get a kick, kicked a bag, played like he should be dropped , then kicked another bag

Watched a bit of it too.

One thing that stood out was how well so many players kicked on their non-preferred foot. Even big Gardy, who had the most ungainly kicking action, got onto a couple of decent ones. Then there was silky Dean Kemp who soccered the ball up into his hands and then laced out a leading Scotty Cummings on his left peg.

Pagan's paddock. Jeeez, how good were our players back then, absolute stars! Kemp's silky skills, cuz's hard running, the mopper-upper in Wirpanda, the Matera's, Jako, McKenna and so on.
This is a great watch.

Can I put on record how many problematic it is only using the Canary away strip only three times this season? I get two of those were white anted by the beautiful Ochre, but I’d prefer it if we went back to how it was during the tri-panel days, always wear the second kit as an away kit, instead of using it as a clash.
We wouldn't have worn the gold wings vs Geelong so not sure how the Ochre affects that, and if we see the Ochre again it will almost certainly be a home game. Although the 'away' game vs North seems like the perfect excuse to dust it off again.

We're only wearing it 3 times because we don't play Brisbane away this year. Since it returned we've only worn it away to:

Bulldogs
North
Freo
Brisbane
And in 2017 we wore it away to Richmond but haven't done it since.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it wheeled out more though, especially once a year at a home game with royal shorts.

Club needs to push hard to wear blue shorts with the yellow wings away. AFLW shown there's no clash issue with it
Essendon wearing full red against Melbourne was a great example of how redundant white shorts are.

AFLW has shown there's no need for them, now we've got examples from the Mens too. They need to bin them, they create more clashes than they solve.

My point was simply one less game in the pool for it to pull from.

FYI, the club are selling player issues at open training tomorrow if anyone's keen to wear the same shirt Owies wore in his illustrious 2025 season
They made a post last week on it and looks they have heap of old puma, ISC and Castore gear. I don’t know why they don’t make it end of season thing like the dockers do

I’m tempted to go have a look - I’ve still got my 2007 Quinten Lynch player issue at home. Prized possession, that

Castore? Is Patrick Naish's no. 28 from 2022 up for sale?

Full gold would be epic too.

I did a mockup of it a few years ago. It's not to everyone's taste but I prefer it to white
I would be very interested to see what the royal wings look like with yellow shorts for when they're worn away. Yellow with blue shorts looks so good, wonder if it applies in reverse.

Like around 18 1987?

Couple of things:

1) The fact that the yellow shorts even existed to be worn as a once off is astonishing. Did they plan to use them more?
2) 25m arc? Huh?
They were also worn once with the peril, against Footscray in 1987.

The reason the yellow shorts came about in that game versus Hawthorn, is because earlier that season we had worn the peril against the Hawks and it created a huge clash. So the club decided to invert the colours fully, not just the jumper. Following that game they went back to the royal shorts, which obviously works much better.
