I like rugby shirts.

For me, they are perfect for Perth winters, enough to keep you comfortable but not sweat in (I'm looking at you puffer jackets)

Had a cheapo best and less or kmart unbranded blue and yellow one years ago that fell apart.

$110 is a crazy amount to spend on one but

Nothing wrong with the style, just don't get why you'd sell it as Eagles merch. It's a different sport, makes zero sense but must make $.

Not for me.

I used to like how in the 90s some players had really long jumpers, like you could barely see the shorts. You dont really see it anymore but looked cool

Same with Andy Gowers style rolled up sleeves.... I have noticed Brad Close (Geel) does this

Do we need to wear black and gold for WA day? Can’t it just be a more WA focused guernsey in royal and gold? Maybe some ochre or navy
You can wear what you like - just not Red!

Surely with Eagles in black, bombers will be in Red clash this week ?!
Normally they just wear home / white shorts.

Saw some page peddling “enforcer” Hockey style jumpers for AFL clubs, and they were even worse.

At least with the rugby jumpers, they’ve become more of a casual jumper style. It’s not like professional rugby players wear them anymore.

Also - with the WA day long weekend, this will mark three weeks without the wings 😭

Lot of toff western suburbs people who are involved in both rugby and footy....would appeal well for them. (Fair few long time wce members involved at rugby clubs like Nedlands and Cottesloe etc)

But yeah even as big rugby fan, 2nd fav sport just behind footy, I wouldn't get it . (For the record I'm not a western suburbs toff....my dad was born in SW France...moved to Australia when he was 10... and his dad played for the 2nd XV for France back in the 70s....I'm definitely a country WA boy)

My heritage is the south of France. Definitely not a toff though. haha

I don't suppose you're from Pemberton way are you? There's always been a bit of French influence down that way.

Are the Old rugby shirts even exclusively a rugby thing anymore? I went to three different schools in South Australia (one public, catholic and Christian) all three schools had rugby style tops as part of the uniform

I'd say you still referring to them as rugby style gives you your answer.

Haha coz of all the backpackers?

Nah Grandpere went to Freo, then to Geraldton then to port Hedland....that's where I was born...grew up between Hedland and Northampton (where my grandfolks settled)...also visited
SW France numerous times for family reasons.

I'll ways be a regional "farmer boy/girl" advocate for both sports"

(Was enhanced when I lived in the South island of NZ for a year too)

****I hate seeing private school Vic boys doing well in footy....thats why I can love Harley, country boy (and also Pan the wallabies...private school Sydney w***ers)

That explains so much
