The Manager Merry-go-Round

He really is getting his friends in the media to do a charm offensive for him.

Amazing that Tuchel has gone from CL winning manager to whoring himself out to clubs that don’t want him, all in the space of 3 years.

Fingers crossed he passes the medical...presumably for high blood pressure

Bayern will sign sign Alonso and then sack him on Day 1 as payback for interrupting their league title streak. :p

Moyes is the definition of 'You don't know what you've got till it's gone' as a manager. Look at Everton and United post-Moyes.
United? Are we any worse off? He made a litany of errors and set us back significantly. Not all his fault though.

Lose on Monday it's 4 pl defeats in a row and no wins in 9.

Sign me up for whatever the alternative is.

So long as Steidten is given the power to choose the replacement.

Hard work as a supporter watching the sort of football Moyes plays.

Can definitely see why West Ham supporters want a change, and even if results drop a little from the precious couple of years. I think the better style of play and hope that there is a level above what Moyes is capable of producing would make it worthwhile.

It was almost impossible to follow Fergie. That level of success in the English top flight may never be achieved again. But initially Fergie was given leeway that subsequent managers were not. League table finishes of 11th twice and 13th are some of the worst in United's history.

Didn’t all those after him do better?

I don't think they've gone further in the CL have they? And Moyes didn't get the chance to finish his PL season so no idea where they would have finished.

Moyes inherited an aging team which didn't help. Vidic 32, Ferdinand 35, Evra 33 at the back. Giggs retired and he had Carrick and Fletcher at 32/30 with some poor previous Fergie buys + Fellaini. Rooney at 28 (already declining) and Van Persie at 30. Fergie took it for one last ride, got a title and then sailed into the sunset. Moyes didn't get given the funds for a complete squad regeneration that he needed.

Moyes was always doomed to fail following SAF, and Gill leaving at the same time is a hugely underrated departure as well, the only managers at the time who could’ve potentially done alright with the ageing list we had is Pep or Jose.

Moyes was a poor choice though that can’t be argued with, not up to a job as massive as managing Manchester United.

Graham Souness didn’t agree :p

“Most of them the right age. Should only get better.”
