June 23. One day after my birthday;)

Hopefully a return to form after a couple of albums not anywhere near the quality of DITC or FTM.

Excited.

They're last two records have left me really cold, and I loved DITC and especially FTM.

Still, it's comforting to see they haven't lost their knack for pretentious and polysyllabic album titles. And I say this as someone in favour of both pretentiousness and anything longer than the word "yes".

I thought their last album was their best.

This album is fantastic, no poor songs to be seen and The Mars Volta have changed their style very well.

Very mellow, chilled album.

With Twilight As My Guide is sensational:thumbsu::thumbsu:

i heard one of the tracks on the radio, im not really sold yet.

i'll have to check it out, i think they're getting a bit stale for me. too many albums.

has it actually come out, or has it leaked?

leaked...

Its a bit of a grower I reckon but I can definetly see myself enjoying it more than BiG.

Songs in the style of The Widow and Televators.

Have only heard the song JJJ have been playing but it sounds cool. I'm in agreement with the majority here, the last couple of albums haven't overly impressed me and were no where near as good as FTM, which is a masterpeice and one of my all-time favourite albums.

It was quite good, but nowhere near the quality of DITC IMO. I'd have Deloused.. as one of the best albums this century.

It's good but not that good.

It's not The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway.

Don't think they'll get near the goodness of Deloused again, that album's golden. But I'm with you on the consistency; they've really tightened up their songwriting.

They are a prog band so "tightening up the song writing" doesn't sound good to me.

Hope it's not boring.

I revisited Bedlam about a month ago, having cast it aside quite quickly last year. And I have hardly stopped playing it these last few weeks. Granted, a pretty ordinary start to the album, but from track 6 onwards it is some of the best stuff they have done IMHO.

As for Octahedron I like it a lot, but it is like a good friend rather than a best mate.

The first two albums took a lot of living up to, but I feel they have had a good crack at it with the last 3.

These guys had a song on one of the Guitar Hero games (I think) which I really liked but I don't know what it was called and have never been able to track it down. I don't think it appears on any album so it may have been on a soundtrack or something maybe? Anyone know of this?

Is it this song? If so, it can be found on "Frances the Mute"
