I loved ER. I never had a close relationship with my brother growing up- but we always watched ER together on a Thursday night. No one else in the family did- just us :smilev1:

But yeah as for now- real life >> dramas, any day.

Asthma is the worst. Ill never forget my first attack at 14 years old- is absolutely scary af. I dont have a serious form of it, but i have massive sympathy for the ppl that do.

Mine is managed by Serotide at a moderate dosage. But I do have a chronic (long term) cough. Love bushwalking and usually in the first half hour or so I do a bunch of coughs to clear my lungs. Then get on with the walk.

My sister and I watched Married With Children. That was our bonding show.

Every week we looked forward to watching it.

Maybe science has improved in 10 years so if it happens again try and get another set of biopsies?

Does it hurt or hinder? Or just look bad?

It doesnt hurt. When i had it like for real, it just looked terrible. And was itchy af. It made my hands feel "tight"- not really painful if you know what I mean. Uncomfortable is probably the best word for it. 9/10 uncomfortable rather than pain.

I keep an eye on my hands, definitely. But it just goes away quickly so I wouldnt bother getting tests done.

Mine is brought on my hayfever/pollens. Im on the Brio (spelling?) preventative. That thing is the legit best.

Man that would suck having a chronic cough.

Fair enough. So really you want a cream for the itch and the pain.

Not a parasite rather than fungus?

Ive seen Species. It could be alien?

:)

Having a cough during COVID is fun. The number of times Ive said "no its not a COVID cough, I have asthma"....

Nah mate you're misunderstanding me. I dont even need a cream for it. When it comes up its TINY- and just a handful of them. And then they're gone within 24 hours or so. Not even any need for a cream!!

And lmfao.

Hey ive had a parasite- that aint funny. 2 weeks i was... you know what... and i was in the ER half way thru on IV fluids.

Yep a cough sometimes comes and goes during spring. I know my body and i know hayfever- i 100% know it.

Usually tho im just coughing at home in the morning, which is an indication i need the preventative, so i take it and cough goes. Im not coughing in public usually.

If I could be any type of doctor I'd definitely steer clear of GP. Sif I could listen to patients crap day in day out.
Wouldnt wanna be a podiatrist. I love ppl playing with my feet- hate the other way round.
As much as I love kids, would not want to be their doctor either.

Honestly, going from my time at Lort Smith- Theatre was my absolute favourite. I even stayed way over my 3/4pm finish time to watch operations in progress until they were completed. So just going on that, I'd love to be a surgeon. If I had the skills obviously and like 6 years + education behind me.

Just a side note- Emergency Departments. LOL at me thinking/believing the drama ER was an accurate representation back then.

I love 24 Hours in Emergency on SBS.

The ER is actually one of the calmest, non-shoutingest departments, ever.
From what they show anyway- not alot of fatalities either- am assuming those dont receive permission to go to air and fair enough.
A lot of doctors choose to do Emergency Medicine as a speciality because it’s fairly cruisey. You clock in, do your shift and clock out. Any patients bad enough to admit become someone else’s problem. Once you’re qualified you work four days a week with no overnights, no callbacks, and get penalty rates on weekends.

The trade-off is every other specialty treats you as a glorified GP.

How do you know so much about ER doctors?

They've let me out of this hell hole on a course of antibiotics so I can go away for New Year. Woohoo!

Awesome.

Take it easy tho!!! No coke, booze or hookers ok.

I can do without coke or booze. Not so sure about hookers.

Yeah true. Maybe i should get myself one of those... I did cancel a $300 hotel stay a couple weeks ago.

Thats how i could justify it anyway..

I had an ultrasound on my hip with a hot nurse in the room. With them doing the ultrasound basically right next to your twig and berries and having no pants or underwear on as a teenager, it was extremely hard to not get hard.

I went tothe eye and ear hospital for my eyes and was seen by quite frankly the most handsome doctor ever.was pretty nerve-racking staring right into his eyes close up

When I was in hospital for my appendix I had to get a suppository from a rather camp nurse, my then boyfriend sat there as it was going on and said to the nurse "You'll have to worry about it falling out of that one."

Try anaesthetist.

only have to have a 5 minute consult, then put the patient to sleep.

Tricky part is getting them to wake up again.
