I really believe Fyfe wants to go down as one of the footy greats. He wants to win a GF, he also knows that this rebuild we're undertaking is probably it for his chances. Make or break. If we're going to change coaches I'd say now would be the best time to do it. New coach just as the team is breaking out of it's rebuild phase. But he's backing Ross. This weekend has definitely made me question if he is.

I trust that Fyfe wants to desperately win a flag. So I'll trust him when he says Ross is still the man.

After the club’s ninth loss by 50 points or more this year, Rosich:
  • Backed coach Ross Lyon, declaring him a key figure in the club’s four draft rebuild.
  • Accepted criticism and questioning of the club after the performance against the Cats, declaring it a disappointing loss.
  • Defended the re-signing of Hayden Ballantyne and Harley Bennell, with the likely signing of Aaron Sandilands to come this week.
  • Said the club would be reluctant to trade its top 10 draft pick from this year’s national draft but “you never say never”.
  • Said the club would make fewer than the 11 list changes it averaged in the past two seasons but would try to trade back into the second and third rounds of the draft and was assessing free agency and trade options.

I am glad that they mentioned injuries, but on the whole it sounds like they are in denial. Both the coaching panel and “fit and available” are in need of significant improvement.

The CEO will always back people externally, as long as they review internally we are fine.

They’ve acknowledged the injury issue in the past and had reviews of the dept, but didn’t make any changes, so are obviously happy with the way it’s going, which is bizarre.

Nah, they've mentioned injuries as an issue before, but always added the 'get out of jail' card that all teams have injuries.

Quite a few interviews lately have mentioned injuries and our S&C team without the 'get out' card. I'm wondering if Webber is going to be one of the fall guys.

That's what I'm hoping anyway.

That’d be a huge step in the right direction imo.

Just saw the channel 7 Ross Lyon interview with Basil. Big nose tried to make a link between Freos current struggles and the harassment claim earlier in the year. Pretty sure at the end of interview Ross says thanks seven?

Yeah he did, he said thanks 7. Hahaha, he's a composed media player but he stuffed that up. Kept shrugging his shoulders a bit too.
But he's way better than harvey, etc. Connolly wasn't bad at media.
But Ross is the boss at media!

So apparently the Hill leaving rumours have surfaced again fuelled by Glen Jackovich. Suggesting bullying from the coach as the reason. It really sounds like BS as the coach has always maintained what an important player he is to the club. Anyhow will wait to see.
