While Glass isn't responsible for any of this, it does ring alarm bells when someone of his character leaves.

If the AFL follows the way it handles the illicit drug policy, that is "don't make us do something by taking your business out of our control spaces, don't get publicly exposed and you can do whatever you want" then the AFL could know West Coast has interesting deals with sponsors paying their players arranged by the club and not care, but if the Fever are getting in trouble for this same stuff then it's outside the control of the AFL to sweep it away and they have to save face by cracking down on it and acting like they had no clue what was going on. Deeply hurt at the abuse of trust.

West Coast supporters would be rightfully furious, especially if they removed their recent flag, removal of all 2021 premiership points, their 2021 and 2022 first and second round picks and forced their existing third party deals to be included in the salary cap from next season onwards - which would force their players out.

The AFL love to keep a foot in both camps, telling everyone on the outside that it's all above board and then letting the clubs know that they can do what they want as long as they don't get the league embarrassed for it, going as far as keeping the clubs in the loop when they are under investigation by external government agencies.

I wouldn't think so either, but if you're saying that bolstering your list with external revenue arranged by the club to deliberately work around the salary cap to attract and retain players is bad then I can't see how you could leave the results of that effort to stand.

He doesn’t once actually mention AC or CS’ future prospects at the club. It’s more just a fluff piece about AB’s on-field journey since being drafted (the headline when you click the link is ‘Brayshaw predicts big future for Cerra and Serong in Freo midfield’).

Did West Coast AFLW team play last weekend? Nothing in the Worst or on Channel Ego. The only other thing that may of happened is that they lost. Watch the razamtaz when they win a game. The sporting media in this town are incredible.
