Adam Cerra ‘highly likely’ to come home
Victorian clubs – two in particular – are circling Fremantle young gun Adam Cerra, but the man himself remains adamant he won’t be rushed into making a decision on his footy future.
Senior foxfooty.com.au writer Tom Morris reported on Tuesday that Fremantle had offered Cerra a four-year deal worth around $750,000 per season.
Morris said Cerra’s decision was about location, rather than money, adding there was a big lure from loved ones to return to Victoria.
Speaking on SEN Breakfast on Wednesday morning, reporter Sam Edmund said rival clubs had told him Cerra was “highly, highly likely to come home to Victoria”, with Carlton and Essendon the clubs that would show the most interest.
Cerra, who’s played 64 games for Fremantle since being taken with Pick 5 in the 2017 draft, told ABC Sport on Sunday that he’d “get to that stuff (contract negotiations) later in the year”.
But when asked if he had a sense of where he wanted to be, Cerra told ABC Sport: “I haven’t got an exact answer for you at the moment.
“I’m loving playing for this group. We’re young and exciting, and I’ve got really tight, close mates here.
“I’m just trying to enjoy it week by week and win games.”
