He hasn’t played WAFL since mid-May. His averages have been 7.5 possessions, 2.5 marks and 0.3 goals per game.

Perhaps he means he’ll be back at South’s. Either way watching him play WAFL league and reserves this year and the condition his body is in - no way on earth he’ll be back in the AFL system.

sounds about right. Its a shame with the amount of talent the bloke had.

Reckon Josh Garlett needs to spend less time on Duff and Quarters ******* around with sound effects and more time getting the time-stamps right. If you're wondering when the discussion of our game starts on the podcast it's 35:25, not 34:00 as listed.

I swear on Tuesday one of the topics was a full 3 minutes behind the time stamp.

Did you send him an email.

He mentioned on his mail bag someone complained about him not getting the timestamps correctly yesterday.

Wrong! Harry McKay is leading the Coleman medal. Fed up the field by blokes like Dow, Walsh and Curnow who have average forward entry disposal entries. It’s the work when you’re a kick away from the contest that matters most. I’ve spoken to freo development staff. Tabs is the dumbest mofo going around. He isn’t smart enough to create that 5-10m block or communicate between other fwds. He’d rather try and out body the no1 defender or lead to a pocket and mark it behind a pack 🤦‍♂️ Prefer Lobb over Tabs all day long.
You think McKay is a smart player then? Both games we played Carlton, the way they block and hold his opponent to allow him to get free is borderline cheating but that’s what a forward line does. Betts is always shepherding, standing in the way of Cox and Pearce. It’s smart, even if it’s not legal in a sense.
None of Freo’s smalls do it. Schulz leads like he’s the second tall. Its ridiculous. Not saying Tabs is perfect however really think his leading patterns and communication is down to Hale being a forward coach. Really need a proper forward coaching. Oh hey, Pav.

Would froth so hard if Pav took over as forwards coach

The Tabs knocking is a joke, he is one of Fremantles hardest working players and has developed into a pretty decent player. Averaging 2.4 goals a game this season that’s more than Josh Kennedy, Max King, jack darling, Brody Mihocek, jake stringer, Cale Hooker, Charlie Dixon. He works hard to always present and contest and give Fremantle and outer option. His leading patterns aren’t a problem, the problem is the delivery and little space for him to lead into. I think Taberner is just an easy target for some posters him as a player himself is the least of Fremantles worries.

He does work hard. Probably unnecessarily. Josh Kennedy runs probably a quarter the km’s Taberner does. Might be why he has been so durable.

If Tabs had elite footy nous, he’d kick 100!

Tabs is a brilliant player but he is his own worst enemy hence the criticism is warranted on here. Really needs someone to help him with his leading patterns, structure in the forward line and cut down on the marathon running and we might see him crack 50+ goals.

In the 52 Western Derbies played between West Coast and Fremantle, 24 players have made their debuts.

Driven by a desire to test young talent on the biggest stage in WA football, the list includes the likes of Andrew Embley, Paul Medhurst and most recently emerging Fremantle talent Michael Frederick.

But could Dockers draftee Nathan O’Driscoll become the 25th to make a baptism-of-fire debut?

With Nathan Wilson (hamstring) and Andrew Brayshaw (suspension) both confirmed outs from the side that went down to Brisbane on Sunday, round 22 could see O’Driscoll take the next step after a budding resume of WAFL form.

WA State Talent Director Adam Jones believes O’Driscoll’s elite work ethic will guarantee he has an impact if called upon to face the Eagles.

Spending three years in the state program, O’Driscoll played a variety of roles including half-back, inside midfield and wing before making his WAFL debut last year for Perth.

“It would be a huge game for him to step up in,” Jones said. “We played him in our state 18s program as a 17-year-old so he’s no stranger to playing above his weight division.

“You knew what you’re going to get when he rocks up. “He’d just turn up to games and through his work ethic, you knew he was going to be in the game. “There weren’t too many games where he was quiet and we knew we were going to get an honest effort every game.

“He’s got a massive tank and one of the best work ethics in a game we’ve had come through. “I expect you’ll see him running himself ragged. He’ll give his everything.

Drafted to Fremantle with pick 27 in the 2020 National Draft, Jones believes O’Driscoll could prove himself a steal after an injury-interrupted draft year. “We felt as a state he slipped down the order in some respects with not getting some championship games away,” Jones said.

“We felt he slipped to Fremantle’s pick and they potentially got a bargain.

“We see upside in getting him into that full-time program and being engrossed in football every day and having some elite players to learn and work off. We think he’s got a great future ahead of him.”

O’Driscoll has found himself in Fremantle’s senior squad in recent weeks with senior coach Justin Longmuir flagging last month the 19-year-old was pushing for selection. “We feel like he’s really improved on parts of his game,” Longmuir told SEN last month. “He’s probably still a couple of good games away from pressing for a debut but he’s earned the right to be named in the (extended) squad and given that recognition.”

Brierty: "Look, we knew the charity work in Syria was risky, but who are we to stand in the way of a young bloke giving back to the community?"

Freo BF posters' humour (for which thanks, thanks and 1000 times thanks) rescue me from a beckoning precipice of despair as I contemplate our Andy-less, Fyfe-less, also Lobb- and Sonny-less Derby.

...but wait, Margetts is playing, going out in a blaze of blue 'n gold glory!! Best joke of the lot.

Stage is set for one of our greatest ever regular season victories.

Most of you could do much more with this, but I couldn't resist a quick conversion of the Brisbane Lions team song (which sadly has a great classic tune aka "The Marseillaise"):

He’s been the pride of Eagle town,
He wears a heart of blue and gold.
He has always fought for their victory,
With his free kick counts untold.
Fifty for one, fifty for all,
Makes Freo answer to his call.
Mar-getts, Mar-getts,
You’ll blow the Weags a winning score
And then – you’re out the door!

Caught a bit of Chris Connolly on The Front Bar. Actually hilarious, his passion and commitment to Freo was a thing of beauty. Refused to let the AFL or anyone treat us like dirt.

Said Eddie McGuire and Sheedy helped Fremantle quite a bit. Even admitted we didn't have a good relationship with the AFL
