If Victory are Melbourne, why do they have the colours of Victoria while Heart have the colours of Melbourne?

lol as if Heart intended to have the colours of Melbourne. Red was only choosen because Victory was blue i've never seen Heart sprook the fact that they have the colours of Melbourne or choosen them for that fact. In any case ask anyone in Melbourne what the colours of the City of Melbourne are and I bet nobody would know. The colours of Victoria is what everyone knows.

Well an A-league team has never been run by a billionaire before!

"Sprook" "Choosen"... I imagine you are correct that anyone you know would have little idea that the colours of Melbourne are Red and White.

And I think you meant "arks" instead of "ask"

I wouldn't get to jizzed over this takeover, ventures like these haven't been successful in the past, go look up Northern Spirt and what happended.
I did look it up, and what happened was Spirit were in an enormous amount of debt (Heart is not) and Rangers misjudged the sporting climate of Australia, thinking they could scoop Australian talent and grow their brand while ignoring their new club (they couldn't) added to the fact the board and Rangers PART owner constantly fought with each other and the then governing body, Soccer Australia over funds, and the Spirit tried to play at venues that were tough to access for their fans and had very high rent and running costs, draining what cash and fans they had.

So, all in all, I think this situation is very different. I am very jazzed (thats what I think you meant, what you wrote is something else entirely) over this move, and the fact you can't or won't accept the knock on effect will be palpable for the whole competition is either delusion or jealousy, maybe both.

Did these guys buy the wrong Melbourne club or something?

Doubt it.

We'd be the cheaper option, and the benefit of acquiring Victory over Heart (for a huge club like Man City) would be negligible compared to the cost difference.

If City loaned some younger players to Heart, would City still be paying their wages and would they be excluded from the salary cap if City did pay the wages?

They bought the one that would have come at a bargain basement price at the moment because of where they sit.

Heart would also have been far less reluctant to sacrifice it's name and limited identity than an established club with a big following like Melbourne Victory.

The only way is up, and hopefully the identity Manchester City will provide the club will be a major asset in their growth.

they just suggested on Channel 10 news that Liverpool are looking at doing something similar. possibly by buying out victory.

IF THIS HAPPENS I WILL BURN ALL MY VICTORY GEAR

It's clear what you meant and equally clear you are wrong

No you are wrong and you are coming across as really jealous.

Suck it up hotshot.

Pretty sure Jeff Kennett was the one that brought that up. He is just talking out of his arse. Ignore him.

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE VICTORY
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE POOR

loving the jealous victory supporters

yerrrr man so jealous that you blokes are becoming manchester city v3.0

good for the game. good for this city. etc etc but you are basically gonna be supporting another franchise with all the rebranding that will take place

No you are wrong and you are coming across as really jealous...

Do show me a post where I sound "jealous" of Heart :D

If your comprehension was a bit better you'd understand I completely endorse City's takeover >

As I stated earlier this purchase is great news for your club, and of course for the A League as a whole.

Anything that helps the A League grow is good news to me...

I don't see why they'd have to. They'd just transfer the money to Heart first, and have Heart pay them so its above board.

When will you come to the conclusion that I'm taking the piss?
