pridda's first quarter was at a standard you should hope to expect from an AFL player. the 3 smothers he got tonight was the best things he did.

Masten had 20 possessions in a largely forgettable last quarter - the 23 he had in the 1st three quarters were of far greater significance

Priddis had a genuine impact on the game tonight and whilst I'd want to watch a replay to confirm my view, I thought he was our 2nd best player behind Yeo. To suggest there was 10 other players that were better is trolling

2) Conditions suited his game style
3) One of Matt's strengths is supposed to be his clearance work - an area we got pantsed in

It's taken a while but Simpson is putting together a less Priddis reliant midfield setup and one that is less predictable. We are better as a result

Yeah it's a good little "in theory" setup he's running with Matt resting forward and utilizing him in ways which get him out of the centre square and all (something i never thought possible) but i still have my doubts it will work against a quality team.

Still, Port last week, as well as the Giants and the Suns games, has left me happily proven wrong in this regard so far. I'm just too happy and satisfied with Yeo to get to caught up in the merits of starting Matt right now. Sheed, Duggan, Cripps, and Yeo are all going through the guts at regular stages, good signs.

Each of those players played "their role" more effectively than priddis did. His best quarter was the first quarter
Just because they don't get 40 disposals doesn't mean they were worse or less effective than priddis . which again is the priddites only ever measure
I'd argue in fact those other guys were more influential

Priddis did what he had to do. He had a good game. I'm normally a supporter but he has been shit in a lot of games lately. Not this game tho. He was above average in a side that smashed the Suns.
