Nevermind the actual rule, one of the most amateurish and cringeworthy aspects of the game has come out this.

"Stand"
"Staaaaaaand!"

Especially when you hear it from 2 separate umpires it honestly sounds like sheep baaa-ing in a paddock. I just don't know what else they can say though. Halt? Stop? Staaand is just so ****ing annoying to hear now throughout the entire game.

"Wait" or "wait on/there/ing" would sound more natural, like when a drive is timed to the fielder at extra cover.

It was all so predictable. Come out with big statements at the start of the new season about the importance and effectiveness of this new rule, only to have it only very selectively enforced within a few weeks. It's now become like cops going around the city randomly handing out a $1000 fine when they see a person crossing when the red man is flashing. But only when they think of it, not all the time.

I've got no issue with them calling it if they were consistent throughout the game but it drives me mad that the interpretation between the three umpires can be so far apart.
Nothing during the game is consistent though.

One tackle will be pinged HTB straight away, another will let the tackle ride out and call for a ball up (both having the same prior opportunity). That's the game, inconsistency. Always has been, always will be. The best teams find a way to ride above it.

Hate rule.Like watching u/10 stuff.Stand Stand Stand.
If they're going to persist with it as they won't admit it being a failure to what they want to achieve out of it.
Then increase the 15 mtr mark to 25.
This little chip chip bullcrap is taking away the enjoyment of the game. Its like playing chinese checkers.

If this is going to be a thing then at least make the penalty for moving 15 or 20m. 50m is was to harsh most of the tie and once AGAIN piuts the ump in a position to change the momentum of a game for the most minor of infractions.

Get rid of the mics completely.

One of the worst rule changes ever, further ruining the game, and The AFL are selling snake oil bsing about how it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Yeah, it's great when players don't move whenever the opposition play on, because they're paranoid of giving away 50 metre penalties for breaking the Netball rules.
