Vice versa for me.I like Port, so I'm glad Ratten is out of the picture.

Wha......Thomas and Broadbent are very good players who bring a lot of good attributes, both would be close to B graders based off this season.
What'd he do?On another topic, what Robbo is doing with this McCarthy story is absolutely disgusting, and I'm surprised Whateley isn't calling him out on turning what is something very tragic and sad into a football narrative.
What'd he do?

Thomas is a fair bit worse than Sammy Lonergan.
And yet one gets over twice as many clearances as the other.Similar style, the difference being Sammy goes in and nullifies most contests he's in, Thomas wins them, doesn't rake it up though, fantastic leadership. He would be a great pocket/rotation player in any team, goes harder than practically any player in the competition. Cassissi and Cornes don't go half as hard.
Who does he push out? Where's the upside?Yeah, I'd take Thomas, if he came cheap.
He's essentially replacing the lost depth of McVeigh, Slattery and probably one or both of Dyson/Baguley.Who does he push out? Where's the upside?

Good kick, good size, flexible... probably in our best side at both endsJetta/Melksham/Monfries.
Wheres the upside of Toovey,
Quick, good kick, rebounds, kicks goals. Again probably in our best side at either end.Puoplou,
Still dunno where he fits in. Wouldn't chaseBird,
Good defender, good rebounderMattner,
Quick, tackles well - wouldn't pay a heap thoughSinclair,
Hard, flexible, finds the ball, kicks goalsBlair,
UnsureMcKay,
Quick, creativeWright,
Quick, good height, flexibleHenderson,
Kicks goals.Callinan,
Can go either tall or small, pretty good overhead, reasonable kickStratton?
Agreed. We could do with a quick half-forward, a half-back who can kick, a genuine big-bodied quick tagger, another good back pocket, etc etc etcTeams need role players, no matter where they are on the ladder.
What the heck is Thomas' role, that we lack? Sort of slow, hard, half-forward sort of tagger who doesn't kick goals? We've got one of those. Except I think he can, still, kick goals.
man i wish we had that jetta

For starters Monfries is about as hard as Paris Hilton. I haven't even said previously we should even go after him, but he is a good player, who can set the tone/spark his teammates. Two of our best prospects over the last two years have been very similar players to him, Howlett and Hibberd. We're lacking serious hardness forward of centre and I think he could replicate what those boys have brought to the midfield and back line respectively.
Bury them (by under 39.5 points).
