Been given free tickets to 2 Carlton games this year- West Coast and the Doggies.

Life's easy.

GREAT round of football.

Even Collingwood winning was vaguely amusing. Weren't North supposed to be real competitive this time? Surely?

Bloody Lindsay Thomas. Total crap - but is transmogrified into a sharpshooter when playing Essendon.

Carlton falling to Footscray.

Hurley monstering Riewoldt.

Win at the 'G despite the atrocious umpiring. A real demolition job in the fourth quarter, too. Good fun.

Hocking makes a tilt at the MOTY comp.

Only sour note was Geelong losing. Would have preferred it if they'd gone undefeated for the rest of the year. When the top 4 includes Hawthorn, Collingwood, and Carlton (with West Coast on the cusp), Geelong has to be the peoples' hero.

After the Hawks game, I thought that any win from then on would be a real bonus. Now that we've had a few, I suddenly wouldn't mind a few more.

Certainly not taking any of them for granted, though.

North vs Collingwood was fantastic to watch, hope all of North's hopes and dreams have been shattered once again.

North, Carlton and Richmond all losing this weekend. If only the Hawks made it the quaddie.

Now, where's that "Atley > Heppell" thread on the North board gone? :D

Just... yeah
I don't have any issues with the guy like I did with McPhee. I understand why he left and all that, but, boy, was he rubbish on the weekend!

That piece of play on 3QT was Jay Neagle vs Geelong like, except Neagle just made a poor decision, whereas Bachar completely choked.

Turned the game.

Just remember, he's basically been guaranteed seniors and he's on 3 years. I thought he was finished @ Essendon before he walked, he's done very, very well to get that contract - undoubtedly the easy road.

Also, beards used to be for bikies & pirates.
Now indie bands & Bach Houli?
Blegh. I'm shaving.

In reference to Houli, Tiggie supporters don't see anything wrong with him. Maybe after sat performance they will start.

Some do, some don't.
His form has been decent as often as not and he does look good when he has the ball.
I think most can see that he's flawed.
However, most are optimistic that he can fix those flaws.
It is my belief that he either can't, or isn't interested in, doing that.

We'll see. However burrowing into packs and doing the tough hard things is something he will never do. Its not part of his make up. He still has a couple of years you'd reckon to fix his skills.

So I return after my red card Norf style hiatus...

What did I miss?

Us kicking 10 straight goals against Bitchmond... oh dear! :o

And North kicking a grand total of 3 goals in their 117 point loss... BAHAHA.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of teams. Good weekend all round.

WB are getting really close to us on the ladder, they're now 9th.
This year 8th position really looks like it's going to go down to the wire.

Ess- 7 and a half wins (played 15 games)
WB- 7 wins (played 15 games)
Saints, Melbourne - 6 and half wins (played 14 games)
NM- 6 wins (played 15 games)

Best case scenario this week:
WCE beat the Saints which will put them into the top 4 and also pushes the Saints down again.

carlscum losing to the Pies will put them down to 5th (which is where we want
them come September)

NM vs WB is going to be a game to watch, as much as i hate NM we need them to win, as WB are more of a chance to reach 8th position than NM.

Freo vs SYD, also concerns us. If Freo lose and we beat Adelaide we jump to 7th.

If this round goes right, we could be cemented into the top 8.

Yes, and if you'll believe the Richmond supporters that laughed at us for "letting" him walk, with the promise of a guaranteed spot in the 22 for the 3 years.

Nice one, Dimma. :o

Well at least unlike McPhee he wasn't promised midfield time....but woah three years. Still think Jimmeh's biggest mistake was wanting to keep Houli...but if coming out and saying that got Houli an extra year it was a master stroke!

Jarrad Waite confirmed to miss four weeks with a hip injury. Joins the Blues best defender Jamieson on the sidelines for Carlton who is expected to miss another six weeks. Carrazzo also in the wars as well and already ruled out of the Collingwood game and probably the week after as well.

Certainly could potentially open a few doors for us when we play Carlton in a couple of weeks, especially if things go pear shaped in Adelaide. Very important players for the Blues and we know we're not their favourite side to play.
