Sucks doesn't it guys?
I mean other teams are used to not going deep into September, but what the hell do we do!

Go doggies !!!

Can't let those AFL supported $wans win :(

These lists are only a good indicator of finishing positions when you look at the age and games played of your best 25 or so. We have a young list overall but no chance most of them play.

Certainly hope so. Means we've been able to keep our best players on the park.

Any specific ideas/requests for a theme?
Still geelong based or competition based?
Let me sleep on it, though I am a chronic insomniac!

Gut feel is though, selecting a team with NO GEELONG PLAYERS at all through the ages and eras.
Gives us a chance to select those opposition players, over the years, we would love to have had at Geelong.

G'day - I'm heading off to hospital in an hour's time to have a triple by-pass, so I won't be back around these parts any time soon.

I hope that you all have a brilliant festive season.

See you on the other side.
Best wishes for your op.

You'll be fine oozeboss....Australian heart specialists are world class....my brother-in-law had a similar procedure, and has never felt better.

Make sure you get back here for the season's Round 1. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Sounds interesting. Sounds like a winning idea.

Reckon we should get the ball rolling asap and start a thread?

Any idea about format, rules, etc.
I can't imagine the delving into the archives for players that played elsewhere will be as popular as those who played for Geelong

I was thinking of a comp wide theme.

So you must pick a player from the 16 clubs (GWS and GC excluded), obviously can pick Fitzroy and South Melbourne players.
Must have a minimum of one from each club and must have a player that debuted in each decade from 1920's through to now (most recent 10 decades).

Have limits max amount from each decade and each club as to avoid a major discrepancy in player distribution.

Why not GWS/GC?
Cameron, Shiel, Green, Lynch... some handy exclusions there.

He is saying you can pick from them but you don't have to. The tenth best player from GWS or GC won't be close to that of any of the other teams.

I read the word "excluded", but if you say so, makes sense

So, I was watching the NBA today and they zoom in on some poor, hapless Richmond kid. Then the camera pulls back and who is the kid's father? None other than Geelong assistant coach, Matthew Knights! Maybe he's just laughing at his son's poor choice in teams...?

Straighten him out and threaten to force him to sleep in the garage like a proper dad FFS!!! ;)
