Is anyone else being pestered by a Telstra scam saying 'you've been selected as a winner of a Samsung phone' when accessing this site?

Not happening on any other site.
I'm not, but I don't get ads on this site so I'm not the best person to respond

Though I can tell you that you're not the first person to raise this concern tonight & within the last hour

It's been happening to me for a few days.

Seems to be tailored to the carrier...... ie mine's the same, but from Telstra.

I reported it to Scam Watch. Hopefully they can stop it.

EDIT: the ACCC have issued me with a reference number, so the complaint has been acknowledged.

Hiya - the above issue has been acknowledged by higher ups and it's been addressed

If we are going to wear the First Nations jumper as often as we have this year... can we create two versions of it. A darer version and a lighter version. ..id not be against adding a dash of colour to it. If we were starting from scratch ..id think most clubs would have three colours.. I know way back when I think we wore red socks at some stage. ... Of course if we only ever wore the. hoops id be very happy with taht as well... as I think most of the alt jumper look better in the shop than they do on the field.

This is what the guys wore last night:

This is what our AFLW team wore

Essentially it's the same design, but more of an away team colouring in that is the darker background with a white on blue design compared with last night's white on white design with blue shading

We clearly have a darker version available, so why hasn't the AFL team worn it?

It is insane that a sporting competition of the AFL’s ilk does not have this.

Each club should have a light, a dark and a clash kit. Home team wears what they want, away has to contrast.

A few years back the club brought back ‘the bell’ and I vividly remember the spiel at the time being that it was researched on our history that it was used to welcome the players out onto the field.

Fair enough I thought, more meaningful than their ‘top 20 hits’ or marching band as fan engagement. Getting a former club champ to do it was even better - especially given today’s kids could ask Granddad who Gareth Andrews or Bruce Nankervis or John Watts were.

But not happy to see how they’ve bastardised it this season. If you’re bringing something back for its historical significance to the club the keep it true to tradition. Now it used to signal the start of the game, mere seconds before the first bounce.

I really like our indigenous jumpers and we should design them as effective clash jumpers, so that they are worn even more often.

Reading up on it, if we were using it to welcome the players on the ground in recent seasons then it was being used wrong because in it's previous life it wasn't about welcoming the players onto the ground - it was used as the time keepers bell, so seems fitting it's used prior to the first siren to signal the start of the game

"Not far from this ground, the Newtown Fire Station served the people of Geelong," Gartland said.

"Its call to action was a large brass bell. When rung, the bell could be heard for miles.

"When the station was demolished in the 1930s, the bell was given to the Geelong Football Club to use as our timekeeper's bell at the Corio Oval."

The Seattle Seahawks do a flag-raising thing with special guests like past players etc. It usually revs up the crowd, not that it was needed really. They also have a special package for fans to be on the upper deck where the ceremony happens.
I think a pregame bell would be a great idea. Pop music is too transitory and superficial.

The siren replaced the bell at KP around about 1950 it still hung in the time keeps box when I first stood on a wooden box watching the Cats at age 4 I guess it was kept as back as it served the same functions, there were a mixture of bells and sirens across the AFL for a short period not everyone was convinced on the reliability of this relatively new electric light stuff.

Too much common sense in that ce.

The extra factor is the special message jumpers.... and it seems to me we have almost created clashes with our first nation jumper more often than not. There was one game this year where we wore a darker jumper..perhaps more Navt blue in it... it might have even been against north..not sure... but if we wore that as our home jumper .. I just wonder what certain other clubs would do. It easy for the afl when we are one club with so much white... we are almost always the lighter club.
