That's essentially what politicians are, no? Just grifters trying to become popular enough to be elected to office.
They are.
But this is the social media bubble, not the political sphere one.
Operates a different grift.

I suspect he may have ended up in the political sphere as time went on. Will never know now though. They are.

No human being deserves to die for sharing their views. For a man who said the below though
“I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights"
It's very ironic.

When we have house invasions here i'd quite like to have the option to be able to to greet them with pistol in hand to drop them as they stepped through the window/door.
Except it does not work that way, does it? Are the home invaders going to knock politely and wait for you to retreive your guns from its safe?
Not to mention, if you have the abiilty to easily access a gun, it is much more likely your visitor will have one too.
I've never even witnessed an act of violence and I'm mid 30s let alone someone with a weapon. Gun or otherwise.Violence begets violence.
You're very fortunate or have lived a very sheltered life.I've never even witnessed an act of violence and I'm mid 30s let alone someone with a weapon. Gun or otherwise.
A lack of firearms has made us a safer society.
So what's your proposal? You have your pistol under the pillow ready whip it out at the slightest distubance?
Violence begets violence.

Or the unfair stigma about where I live is just that. Unfair. Brilliant place to live. You're very fortunate or have lived a very sheltered life.
Plenty of violence getting around in Australia, thankfully very little with guns though.
Why does it have to be a stabbing or a shooting? How often have you two seen a shooting or stabbing happen right in front of you?
I understand more than most. I was beaten up by six guys, who I had no prior knowledge of, outside a nightclub once. That's a nonsense saying.
Zero relevance to people protecting themselves from criminals.
Imagine thinking criminals won't commit violence upon you if you act all nice and polite to them.
Like the two kids who ran from their attackers but got hacked to death anyway.
Showing that avoidance also begets violence.
I guess the worry is if guns become easier to get again they are just going to end up in the wrong hands. They'll replace machetes as the weapon of choice. That's a nonsense saying.

I’m sorry your group were jumped, but not sure why someone would be sheltered because they have gone their entire life not seeing an act of violence. The last time I saw a fist fight was in the late 1990’s at high school and I hope I go through the rest of my life not seeing another one.Why does it have to be a stabbing or a shooting?
I've been part of a group that was put into hospital when we were 'jumped' walking home one night. My cousin was beaten to death with a gym bar. I've seen dickheads throw punches at sport, at pubs etc.
If I'm trained and registered with that firearm, easy access to the weapon is desirable.

Violence is never the answer but I think a lot of people are fed up with all the shit happening (stabbing, crime, home invasions etc) and feel like enough isn’t being done to protect us (speaking about Melbourne, it’s become a shitshow). People will start taking matters into their own hands.
The issue is with the ****wits committing these acts, if they want to kill, they’ll kill with any weapon. We ban machetes, they’ll just use knives, so we ban knives, they’ll use hammers.
We need harsher penalties, like look what happened with that poor Ukrainian girl in the US, stabbed to death by a guy who shouldn’t have been anywhere near the public, absolute joke!!
