Funny thing is she runs Mac OSX.

Yep. We have nothing with Telstra, so bit of a stupid attempted scam.

The scammers are usually based overseas & out of the jurisdiction of Australian Police. They need cooperation from overseas to get em and it rarely happens for small time scams like these unfortunately.

I get them.i alternate between trying to keep them on the line as long as possible, to just telling them to **** off and hanging up.

Had one tell me off for being rude to him once, I was staggered.

What's the season pass for it? I hate spending almost as much as what I spent getting the game for in the first place!

Just got to think how much the tax rate is + how much you earn & have you done a tax return. If the answer to the last bit is yes unlikely you owe the ATO anything. If unsure just some quick math to work out what you'd likely owe. Unless you're a high earner it's never going to be that much unless you'd never done your tax.

Those sort of scammers work out who to target. I'm sure they fail more often than not but all they need is a couple and they've won.

I got my card scimmed twice in the uk. Took a few days to get the money back. Massive pain in the ass with things like rent and phone bills due. Not sure how it is in Australia but the uk banks were a pain in the ass

They're pretty quick to refund you here if you've been scammed.

Quite a few in Australia have had their credit cards used to buy business software off the Microsoft website who stupidly don't require a CVV for online purchases.

Some campaigner spent 2k on my card on November. Called the CBA and they refunded it immediately.

Have they reported it to the police? Would like to think there are ways that people like this can be caught through phone records etc.

Not yet, but upon further reading doesn't seem like much can be done.

I have both the numbers (mum said he called back like 20 times), tried calling them but they just ring out.

Same thing happened to a friend last week but they didn't buy it. Phone number came up on caller id as a sydney no but from what I've read the scammers are spoofing the Australian number from overseas. Unfortunately not much can be done about it by the police here.

Unprompted Windows update about a week or so ago. More akin to an upgrade (in that it copied files, backed up system etc) than an update but I already had W10 so it must be an update.

Ever since I get one of two errors on Ethernet.

1. Windows Sockets registry entries required for network connectivity are missing.
2. Default gateway is unavailable.

Doesn't come up on Wifi but barely lasts more than 90 seconds before my Ethernet drops out. Network diagnostics resets Ethernet adapter and rinse and repeat all over again.

Frustrating as my Wifi speed is roughly 10mbps but Ethernet is over 150mbps.

Yeah the game is cheap, apparently the season pass is $50 though. What's a season pass anyway? I almost exclusively play sports games haha.

Season 3 wasn't great but 1, 2 and 4 were all excellent and Kevin Spacey is magnificent.

I've only seen season 1 and 2. While Spacey is quite brilliant, I still feel the show has been overhyped on nowhere on the same tier of shows as Breaking Bad, the Wire, Mad Men or Sopranos.
