Looking forward to what JJ can do with Star Wars, I like the new cast. I was hoping it would be mainly unknowns, big stars I think take away the feel of Star Wars. In the prequels (ew) you were watching Liam Neeson, Natalie Portman etc instead of Qui Gon Jinn and Princess Amidala. But that is just one of many things that were ****** about the prequels.

To be fair Natalie Portman wasn't huge before Star Wars, Star Wars made her. But the point is a good one, same with Samuel L. Jackson. Alec Guiness and Harrison Ford were the only big names in the originals, and Ford wasn't a huge star when he was first in SW.

Natalie Portman was a big star before Star Wars. Harrison Ford was a nobody when cast in Star Wars.

But anyways, I dont really like big names in Star Wars movies, it takes you out of the universe. It's like you're watching a cool space battle and then Tom Cruise comes on screen. RUINED! Hahah

What had Portman been in before TPM? Ford was in American Grafitti or something with Lucas wasn't he? And that's how he got the part?

Never heard of them but I was pretty young at the time, so I'll accept that they were big movies.

Yeah he had been in American Graffiti but was far from a star. That was pretty much the only thing he had done and really only got the part or had a chance at the role because Lucas knew of him from working with him in that movie.

As for Portman, she has been a star pretty much since she was a kid. After The Professional, she was pretty much made. She has also been in a Woody Allen pic, she was in Beautiful Girls which was well recieved, has a small role in the epic Heat. Was one of the main stars in the offbeat but terrific Mars Attacks!

Seriously though, absolutely terrific film. The scene with De Niro and Pacino in the diner together. EPIC.
