Also probably the best C in the draft. If not for his contract situation he would have gone top 3-4. Im pretty stoked we got him. Plus considering how stacked the draft will be next year, having him over in Europe while we tank can only be a good thing. More playing time for Amir and Davis to develop, once Jonas comes over there is a real logjam up forward.

Jonathan Givony (Draft Express) just tweeted that T'Wolves draft pick Tangay Ngombo has lied about his age. He's actually nearly 27 years old, instead of his reported 21! Says Givony, "Apparently this is a common practice in Qatar, used in order to naturalize African prospects and strengthen their national team."

I wonder whether Scotty Hopson (undrafted) still thinks he can be "the greatest player that's ever played in this basketball league" :p

Oh, it's much worse than that. You see, all the Wolves had to do was to look at Ngombo's entry on the FIBA website. Apparently no one is lying about his age there.

Pete Philo is one of the organisers of the Euro draft camp and is a long time Wolves scout based in Europe. He spotted this guy while assisting with the Chinese national team.

My understanding is that the trade is not complete so Dallas still own Ngombo's rights, but the NBA is expected to invalidate the pick. I imagine the Wolves will (and should) cough up the money they were going to give Dallas for the trade.

I must say, I haven't looked into him at all but after our recent run with Euro players (where most of them are not that suited to NBA) I hope this guy can play some D and isn't a C that just takes shots from outside the key...:p

For press conferences for My Player in 2K12, Answering Scotty Hopson style should be an option.

Reporter: "You took a lot of shots out there tonight, and your shooting percentage wasn't the best it's been this season. Do you think you might need to work on your shot a little in the gym this week?"

*to answer Hopson style, press every button at once*

Player: "You know it's all part of my education to become the greatest player this league has ever seen. My teammates see me on the court and it's like an instinct to pass me the ball. Most times I can see daylight between myself and the rim and you know I'm going to take that shot. The coach hasn't exactly given me open license to take every shot I can but you know I can't put up big numbers if I don't shoot the basketball and I want to bring my teammates into the game too but I can't be the greatest player to set foot in this league without throwing up a few shots and you know, I have my flaws but I hope that one day these types of games are looked back on as stepping stones to my eventual 14 MVP awards and 6 championship rings. I want to be the greatest player that's ever set foot in this league, have I mentioned that? Next question, man."

I really wanted Jonas, big motor, heaps of upside and plays good d. Could be the best player from the draft.

****, watching her interview while her friend stands next to her reminded me of every lame-arse cameraman's conversation before the action starts in pr0n movies.

Anyone else feel the same way? Maybe I've been watching too much pr0n.
