This is why I love the Wolves.

They went hard with the Magic for three terms today, did a great job. Then they got the memo.

"Messenger has Orlando at -8 in a three leg multi! Back off guys!"

And they did. Bless.

Orlando clearly got the memo about Minnesota.

55 shots from beyond the arc for both teams, 37 of those from the Magic and 20 of those shared between Rashard Lewis (5-10 while attempting only 2 shots inside the arc) and Ryan Anderson (4-10).

Oh, and when is Gortat going to get warmed up?

6 min, 0-1, 0 boards, 1 block and 3 PF's. That's value for money right there...

Patty had a good first quarter in his D-League game.

12 points (4/8, 3/3 3pt), 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 foul - 9mins 21.

It's interesting that his numbers arent much less than last year's. Playing as Dwight's back up means the time simply won't always be there. They tried him at the 4, and his men were doubling off him at every chance so they are stuck with a 33m man playing 10mpg (unless their plan was to trade him).

The puzzling one was signing Bass. Again, his per minute numbers aren't down on his 2 years in Dallas (other than rebounding) but he is an afterthought in the rotation. Apparently, he can't open the floor up enough for Dwight.

Well Otis, you could have asked any Mavs fan that. Bass is elite between 12-18 feet, but hopeless outside that. He attempted 10 3s in 2 years with Dallas. With Lewis and Anderson, the Magic have found their stretch 4s.

Basically, the Magic invested 51m in insurance policies.

LA are stinking it up bad. I don't think I've seen 1 guy play D yet.

Lakers were the $1.10 favorite of a three leg multi (you have the same one, sblack, just with better odds).

Shhh. They're hanging around.

I know everything doesn't come down to PER, but...

Player Efficiency Rating

Marcin Gortat
2008/09 - 17.0
2009/10 - 11.8
Career - 15.4

Brandon Bass
2008/09 - 16.4
2009/10 - 17.7
Career - 15.4

They're both doing something differently in the minutes they're playing this year:

  • Gortat is turning the ball over more and rebounding less, while shooting slightly worse than he did last season as well.
  • Bass is fouling more and rebounding less, but he's still playing more efficiently overall than he did last season, mainly because of a good FG%.

Mills finished with 38 points, 12 assists, 3 steals and just the one turnover from 36 minutes. He shot 7 of 10 from three point range, 5 of 6 from the line and 13 of 25 for the game. Could receive an early call up with Blake out for a few games?

Man it was a bad time for me to bench Hawes today. 27 points, 11 boards and 3 treys with 3 to go in the 4th. Very unpredictable this guy

That is a brilliant effort, I would love to see him playing in the NBA.

Anyone see Beno Udrihs layup to take the lead? Pretty, pretty move, schooled Gasol big time.

His foot was out of bounds. Honestly, they should call the shot off. Looks like its on the line.
