I don't need to read it, the Karens arrived in the late 90s in internet chat rooms. They were "moms" of the Beckys.

I bet that article doesn't mention anything about Dane Cook or Mean Girls does it?

Let's recall Cook circa 2005...

"Every group has a Karen, and she is always a bag of douche," "And when she's not around, you just look at each other and say, 'God, Karen, she's such a douchebag!'"

So using Karen as a name for douchebag middle aged white women was around long before some kids thought they were edgy and started using it in a meme.

Pop culture history.

LOL. Citing Mean Girls is not something I expected.

The next time a black man has the police called on him by another Amy Cooper (A Karen), she can cite Mean Girls as her defense. 😂

Karens have been the internet Police since the late 90s, it was a natural progression that they would think they could do it in real life.

I only really notice the term in the last 5-7 years. I suppose it was probably much longer ago than that.

Ian Wright couldn't just take the win - that the BBC was forced to back down on Match of the Day by people who claim not to be BBC employees. He demanded that "heads have got to roll” at the top of the BBC. This is 'good bloke Wrighty' that as a player was regularly in front of the FA's disciplinary panel for offences including spitting at fans and trashing a referee's dressing room.

The issue is not just divisive amongst BBC audiences but some BBC staff have hit out at “multi-millionaire presenters who are drawing the picket lines and expect everyone else to join”.
Really hurting over the BBC being called out huh?

I have stated it. You have ignored it and that is your problem and your issue to deal with if you think that. Maybe you think this forum is now enacting a holocaust on you and Bojan. I wouldn't be surprised.
That is a really distasteful comment mate.

It's distasteful when I say it but not when Gina Carano says it. Got it.

I am not Gina Carano nor do I agree with what she said. You seem to group everyone that has a different opinion to yourself in a basket and you are projecting. I do like your gif though.

I'm not a BBC employee though so as a bastion of free speech, I thought you would praise me for saying such a thing.

You can say what you like. Freedom of speech does not equal freedom from consequence. I can defend your right to say something and disagree with it at the same time. I am not reporting you to moderators on this site because I disagree with you.

Ah the old jump rope with the line that suits you.

Also, my point was more about Bostonian thinking that Gina Carano posting about Nazis was about people with differing opinions, rather than eradication of a race of people/religion. I would never throw the holocaust line out because I'm not a simpleton who's been kicked in the head too much (Gina Carano)

Two in a row, trying to make it personal rather address the point. Otherwise known as SM-ing the thread.

He says, taking a personal dig at me.

So there was no need to bring me into that.

At the risk of being accused of censoring free speech, I think it might time for everyone to move on.

Typical. Someone brings up the Holocaust and you jump in to stop the discussion. I see you Auntie.
