Always loved Raul as a schoolkid, probably the reason I got into football, and for some reason, always had a soft spot for Bixente Lizarazu. However, if Reus stays at the club for longer, and continues as he does, he will probably take top spot

Could you guys clearly choose your favourite player of all time? Like, as in, is it so clear cut? I believe Thistle said his favourite player of all time was Torres (could be wrong), though.

It's hard for me. I wanna say Henry but at the same time I loved Ronaldo, Zidane and Bergkamp too. I couldn't make a clear cut choice.

So, after hearing Jatz' answer, and considering my thoughts about a certain team, you thought the answer would be obvious...

No, it's actually Paolo Maldini, the first player I've seen repeatedly and well, secured my like for the game called soccer/football. That's what happens when you know of some passionate Italians who had access to such a thing. He's got one of the best techniques I have ever seen. Also a great leader as well. Always the hero that saves the team from trouble.

It's thanks to Maldini that I liked guys like Cafu and our very own Matt Elliot, which I guess you could call my first favourite player that set me up for supporting Leicester. Two goals in that League Cup Final, what a champ.

John Aloisi also has to be up there. Say what you like about Kewell, Viduka, and Cahill, Aloisi was the one I feel that represented Australia the best. He always puts his all for the country, and I was very annoyed when he was no longer included in the Socceroos squad. The guy could've easily played on. It's only recently have I probably accepted that Cahill is our best of all time, because aside from that one penalty, I don't think many are actually aware of what Aloisi actually ever did for Australia.

From a Leicester point of view... I'm not going to count retrospectives, so I can't say Linekar and Heskey. There was Izzet... I hate to admit this one, but... Matty Fryatt (He was good on FM as well, cut me some slack), Kisnobo, Tiatto... I think the first really big one was Andy King. It's all about the journey, he's experienced the same things that you as a fan had when we got relegated to League 1. I think he's done decently in the Premier League (would like to see more, including a goal though), and I would have him on that next tier behind Bale and Ramsey for Wales. Great player, really likable, and the faces, oh god... the faces. You think Phil Jones is a freak, just look at Andy King.

Recently, Mahrez is taking the cake for me. I actually stayed up late to watch Algeria matches, just to see him play. I'm hoping that we can keep a hold of him. I also really like Wasyl. That sort of toughness and that intimidation factor. That's what you want from your hardy defenders!

All time, I would have to say Maldini, he's the reason my interest grew in the game.

It's just too hard to nail down one player. Of the current lot Silva, Yaya, Aguero, Kompany and Zabaleta all have legitimate claims to being my favourite at different times. But I loved the older lot as well, even though they didn't have the success. Kinkladze, Rosler, Quinn from when I first started supporting City. Bernarbia, the Goat, Dunne, Weaver, SWP.

Just feel wrong singling out any one of those from the others.

Non City, I always liked Gattuso, Eto'o, Vieira, Maldini and Villa. I always liked Scholes a little bit too much given who he played for. But probably Messi would be my favourite. From his debut as a 17 year old and you could just tell he was going to be something amazing.

pretty sure you used to be a big fan of beckham?

Who'd be in a World XI atm?

Neuer
Lahm Kompany Silva Alaba
Yaya Vidal
Silva
Messi Ibrahimovic Ronaldo
Kroos
Aguero
James
Bale
Neymar
Robben
Gotze
Ramos
Genuinely curious, the midfield is the most interesting for me. Kun unlucky, along with Bale.

Reckon that midfield would get run over. None of the top 4 track back particularly well, leaving Yaya and Vidal to do the grunt work.

Although, that's one team where you could afford to do that.

Yeah just shooting stuff out there, was curious to hear other people's thoughts.

The midfield set up is what irks me the most, I am sure people on here have a better idea. However, Yaya and Vidal could boss teams.

Matic, Azpi and Terry would all have to be close.
No doubt, though Lahm and Alaba are probably the best FBs in the world atm.

Got tickets to Liverpool v Brisbane Roar this morning, going with a couple of Liverpool mates and girlfriends. Front of the kop sounds pretty decent.

I know it's a big PL club and all that but I just wouldn't be excited to watch Liverpool play live. I saw United (only because I was given free tickets) and that did nothing for me either.
