imo the A-league is a better standard league than the scottish premier league.
my friend disagrees and thinks the a-league shite.

thoughts?

Apart from Celtic (and even that's a big questionable), there really isn't much quality in the Scottish league these days. Pretty much has been a league for hacks to rack up some nice stats to make them look much better than they really are if you play for Celtic. So much for more competition stand point that the others will give Celtic a challenge... easy... way too wasy for Celtic. It doesn't help that Scotland lost the 2nd CL place either. Scottish competition has gone from a crappy La Liga to a very crappy Bundesliga. Rangers leaving the Scottish Top Tier combined with the money down south has really hurt Scottish Football, and it shows in every single metric.

Now with Rangers back, I do expect to see some improvement, though it will be a question to see how soon can Rangers actually compete with Celtic.

At this moment, there's a lot more energy and passion in the A-League. Quality is getting better, especially amongst Asia's best, and even with China's billions, the boys are still proving a point and getting it done at the highest Asian Level.

At this moment, I'd give it to the A-League, and it is very underrated by those that like only Euro football... especially names that shan't be mentioned.

Sydney is like Celtic this season. But Ive watched a bit of Scottish league and the a league is much better.
I'd rate it mid championship standard.

The Scottish League or Celtic? Celtic, yes. The Scottish League, you're being generous. I'd have it lower Championsip/higher L1, and I'm not even kidding. There are some decent teams, but they would need to do extremely well just to get midtable in the Championship.

Scottish PL is hard to watch but they'd grind out wins against a league sides

Gero are you going to the jets game 2nd Jan @ KP?
I think we're going to dinner for Papa's birthday but time depending could meet up pre-game. I'm guessing Quivorir won't be going?

Touch and go whether ill make it or not. if I do it will be with wife and kids so not great for having beers. Trying to combine the game with a trip to the water park but the weather isn't looking great for it on Sunday / Monday.

18 degrees. Ouch, haven't been there for a while and a lot of new rides have been put in since. Definitely a good day out.
I don't drink anymore anyway.

How can you not drink and live in a place like Geelong?

Easily. We're misunderstood.
1/2 hour from the surfcoast and great beaches too.

Every league is a crappy La Liga.

Most people that have had experience with both say that the A-League is generally League 1 standard, but with a different style and obviously played in different conditions, with most of the top teams in the A-League over the last few years able to hold their own at the lower end of the Championship.

Not enough tax evasion and FFP violations are really setting other leagues back. Astute observation.
