Translation: "Go troll some other teams board, I'm sorry you dont think your team is a genuine enough chance for the flag to talk to your fellow Weagle supporters, but why should we suffer because you dont have a forwardline and the Saints will rip you a new one?"Gunnar Longshanks said:Translation: "not telling!"
We've got a week off so the WC boards are pretty quiet.PiePower said:Translation: "Go troll some other teams board, I'm sorry you dont think your team is a genuine enough chance for the flag to talk to your fellow Weagle supporters, but why should we suffer because you dont have a forwardline and the Saints will rip you a new one?"
Then you came to the right place because even in a year when we finished 15th we had the highest average attendance for 2005 out of all 16 clubs... kinda explains your fascination with us dont it gunboyGunnar Longshanks said:We've got a week off so the WC boards are pretty quiet.

Well what a treat for all of usGunnar Longshanks said:Gunboy?
I post intermittently on nearly all the team boards. Even more leading up to the trade period, which starts earlier for some clubs than others. Am I fascinated with every side in the competition?
It's funny how you throw out a lame one-liner, I shoot it down and reveal how lame it is, and you just move on to the next batch of tripe.PiePower said:Well what a treat for all of us
I realise the pressure of winning your first "real" premiership, as opposed to the concessional state side you were handed to win the first 2 must be enormous... but truly Gunny, we have nothing to do with that, and frankly we couldn't care lessGunnar Longshanks said:It's funny how you throw out a lame one-liner, I shoot it down and reveal how lame it is, and you just move on to the next batch of tripe.
Yawn!
I came here to talk about Collingwood, but you insist on peddling your very beige brand of sledging.
Well we've got a few more weeks off than you guys.Gunnar Longshanks said:We've got a week off so the WC boards are pretty quiet.

Sorry to break it to you guys but were still going to be paying 100% of the salary cap and with Campo and Whitnall expected, at the very least, to be signed up on much reduced contract Carlton will have lots of room to move under the cap. If Bartel does appear in the Pre Season draft we WILL take him.pieman1 said:preseason draft is to offer that big name a heavily front loaded contract. Carlton won't match with their cash flow problems going for a younger cheaper option. Hopefully a Jimmy Bartel type hears a cha ching noise in his head and signs on the dotted line.(Please don't get outraged cat fans, he's a 1% chance of leaving) Failing that go for an Victorian youngster who is interstate (Daniel McConnell?) who is stuggling to get a senior game.
Yeah because those high priced midfielders sure set you guys alight, where did Stevens take you last year?gandaal said:Sorry to break it to you guys but were still going to be paying 100% of the salary cap and with Campo and Whitnall expected, at the very least, to be signed up on much reduced contract Carlton will have lots of room to move under the cap. What's that got to do with it? Don't shoot the messager. It's not my fault you were all delusional.PiePower said:Yeah because those high priced midfielders sure set you guys alight, where did Stevens take you last year?
We dont shoot you because you are the messenger, being a Carlton supporter is sufficient reasongandaal said:What's that got to do with it? Don't shoot the messager. It's not my fault you were all delusional.
Are you sure you aren't talking about Collingwood? The last big name player Collingwood attracted was Rocca, and even he only wanted to go to Collingwood to play with his brother.Jimbeam said:the scum are truly a waste land, not one player would want to end up down there, and i'm sure most clubs will help their players avoid carlton like the plague.. sure you stole stevens from us, but port are assholes at trade time... Bart will end up at the Dons or Pies if he is leaving(already rumors going around he wont go to carlton), only way you will get a gem like jimmy in the PSD is if their club is ********ed at him and wont make a trade for anything, like the stevens fiasco.. Another problem with the scum down the bottom is murphy, the poor kid, i would cut and run the brissy in a heart beat, hope he stays though for the pies sake, but we will still get ellis as the scum need ready made kids like hurn bad...

With reasoning like that it's no wonder that the supporters of Collingwood are more likely to end up in jail then any other club. Scum the lot of you.PiePower said:We dont shoot you because you are the messenger, being a Carlton supporter is sufficient reason

Hey no need to beat us over the head about it... that wooden spoon really hurtsLajon said:Oh well I guess the big footy rumours have it all locked up. Why even have a trade week? Let's just sign him up to the Pies now. What a delusional bunch of supporters.
Basically we have enough average paced second level midfielders. What I'd like is someone like Brent Harvey although he's a bit older than ideal at this stage. Obviously Chris Judd or Ben Cousins would be highly sought after but they wouldn't be up for grabs and if they were I doubt Collingwood would have the asking price. Rowan Jones would be another West Coast sourced disaster. Not remotely interested in him. I don’t know enough about Butler. My doubt on Fletcher would be what role he'd play in a lesser midfield given we have Buckley and Burns near the end of their careers. We can’t solve our midfield problems by getting more depth at the second level.Gunnar Longshanks said:What would you offer?
No interest in Rowan Jones? MM probably rates him.
What about someone like Sam Butler or Chad Fletcher?
Good post. Well said.jabso said:Well we've got a few more weeks off than you guys.
Birss, Salopek, Boyd aren't really 'name' players anyway and alot of clubs would easily take Cole and pick #21 for a player of their stature, Cole is young and has shown potential and was taken #11 and has talent so is well worth the risk IMO.
Butler is a bit different, West Coast really rate him and so do most of the football world and thus wouldn't give him up easily unless it can help them get something they need i.e. a good tall forward.
The likes of Lockyer and maybe O'Bree could be traded to boost someones depth, Lockyer at least would be a solid player in a good midfield and some clubs may show interest.
We are not saying that we could trade a 2nd round, O'Bree and Lockyer for the likes of Gardiner, Tredrea, Fevola. Although there are some (very young and naive mind you) supporters that are saying this. While you do raise some good points Gunnar, you do tend to generalise us supporters and are too quick to argue to absoloutly every made in this thread. You are trying to bait these naive posters to bite back so that you can boost your ego. You are a bit of an internet warrior.
