That'll go as well as the 60+ court cases that Trump and his associates filed.

Meanwhile in the real world..

back in 1987 Trump had his bid for the casino in Sydney rejected because of his links to the mob
5 Consortia tendered for rights to develop and conduct a Casino at Darling Harbour in 1986. The Police Report the subject of this 3 ½ year old Article warned against 3 of the bidders, those involving Trump, Stanley Ho and Lim Kok Thay. Subsequently the entire Tender process collapsed.

In 1987, the NSW Govt was in a mire of corruption scandals, its Minister for Corrective Services was jailed in 1987 for accepting bribes for early release of prisoners. It lost the 1988 election in a landslide after being in government for 12 years, the central issue was Government corruption. Is it any wonder that it caved in at the hint of difficulties with the first Casino ? The new government established ICAC and re opened the Tender process.

Kern-Trump tendered again. The Kern-Trump Consortium bid was approved by the Darling Harbour Authority and Casino Control Division of NSW Treasury. The Dept of State Development required changes to Kern-Trump’s Tender and gave the consortium 48 hours in which to re submit which it didn’t do, one report suggests that it was because Trump was losing interest. The Lendlease consortium’s Tender was accepted but it couldn’t meet its commitments.

Trump gets headlines because of who he is. Lo and Lim probably get headlines in Hong Kong and the Genting Highlands. It doesn’t look like he lost the Tender in Sydney because of his ‘Mafia Connections’ though. Anyone interested in getting a less hysterical but informed account might look at Articles by

Hahahaha.

Like they've done so much to keep criminals out of Australian casinos since then.

They go together like bread and butter.

No doubt about it, Gl. I understand Govts being seduced by the gambling lobby, revenue. Even our socially conscious Club got its snout into the trough until the writing was on the wall.

I talk to quite a few NFL fans in the US, who are mostly Trump supporters. I think I have finally identified why they love Trump more than any other GOP option.
It’s the narcissism. They see that as a key quality that they identify and share with him. Trump looked after himself, just like they look after themselves. They see regular GOP as too timid or ‘nice’.

These are sports fans and don’t represent the full spectrum of Trump fans.

I think that and the overt racism is a big part of it. However, in my view the biggest factor when it comes down to explaining why the masses fell in line with Trump, comes down to how he recognised and then cannily exploited the American Dream myth that anybody can make it if they just put in the hard work. When in reality they have a social divide as wide, rigid and exclusive as just about anywhere on the planet. The top end of society is one that never really accepted Trump and his ostentatious gaudiness as one of their own regardless of how much he flaunted his apparent wealth. He then used this insight and his outsiderness as the basis of a mythology that the is indeed the paragon of the everyday, self-made man and with just some of that hard work they too could have a golden shitter.

Its why he only ever spoke of the $1.5 million dollar starter loan that his father gave him when he began his property developer career. The $400 million that he inherited from his fathers estate is an inconvenient and usually sidestepped part of his carefully crafted self made mythology.

Its a pretty incredible thing that he managed to pull off when you think about it. Too bad it all blew up in his face due to his inherent myopic idiocy.
