Is it weird that I'll be the first one to hang shit on Perth but if a visitor or ex-pat does it it pisses me off?

my lawyer has a simple saying to visitors "if you don't like the beach, if you don't like the river........just F off then"

sums up Perth as a simple but beautiful place. If you want more, then you are probably in the wrong place.

That's gold. I'm using that from now on.

This. Think I have taken my jumper off about 10 times and then put it back on, gotten in and out of rain. Might as well be in Melbourne

I'm going with jumper off and washing on the line. **** it.

I think we do have a few great eateries, but not a lot of people try to be unique, I could throw up Lucky chans, Toast face Killah which are pretty out there but everywhere else is happy to charge 45 dollars throwing a tiger prawn on a steak

It's baby steps though. Yeah there's still plenty of places getting away with the $45 steak thing, but there's also places like Pinchos and Lucky Chan's popping up that you wouldn't have had a hope in hell of seeing five years ago.

I reckon the food scene has gotten much more interesting, its still costly for the most part but at least workers get a decent wage unlike most countries.

Perth also has one of the best kebab places in the world.

I've been shitfaced drunk and had many a late night kebab both here and overseas and Cosmos kebabs are the best I've eaten/dropped on myself.

Run by a bunch of Greek guys and what they don't know about kebabs isn't worth knowing, it's a drunk people magnet in Leederville.

Used to live on Anzac Road and was a regular at Cosmo's. Tried Efes to mix it up every now and then but I always regretted it.

Yeah I've been to Efes a few times but it was never as good as Cosmos, it was easier to get a kebab there though late on a Friday and Saturday night as it wasn't as busy and when you're drunk and fanging for a kebab speed of service matters.

I used to live in Galway Street in Leederville in the late 90s and one of my female housemates worked in a café just opposite Cosmos, she knew the guys at Cosmos and the guys that ran the Hip-E Club so if we went out with her we could jump the queue at both the Hip-E Club and Cosmos.

It was like the Leederville Mafia back in those days, if you knew the right people it was an awesome place to go out.

Kizon and his crew used to lurk around there too at the Leedy Hotel and Hip-E Club, the sort of guys you would steer clear of if you saw them.

Heh. Small world. I was there 99/00.

Retro Bettys was a pretty good burger joint too and the bloke that owned that looked like he wouldn't seem out of place with that crowd.

I was living there in 97/98.

I was overseas from 1999 to 2002 and when I came back here I went back to the Hip-E Club and it wasn't the same, the cool people had all gone replaced by shithead bogans and instead of all the old cool 60s/70s music they were playing just regular shit nightclub music.

I don't think I've been back there since.

Best Kebabs in the world belong to Ariks in South Perth.

This upcoming warm weather shits me. Looks like the weekend is going to be good though.
Today was perfect. Starts to get shit above 27 and the UV will just murder everything soon anyway.

Are you a Pom?
People who like summer over here are dickhead banker types who sit in a office in a/c all day. Its usually too hot, the sun will kill you and failing that the flys will. Also there is no football left. Just crap.
