Well, this is embarrassing!

Following reports in The Age that unidentified bones were set to be tested to see if they belong to murdered British backpacker Peter Falconio, who was killed in the Australian outback in 2001, the force released a statement on Friday night denying any such discovery.
"No human remains have been located by Northern Territory Police, and a search is not currently being conducted," a post on Facebook said.

They may say that just to get the media off their backs. Can they test bones for DNA?

Yeah pretty sure DNA can be found in bones, one of the articles suggested teeth were found which are just as good I think for identification purposes.

What an odd situation.

There is something amiss with that whole investigation around Falconios death. The truck driver who rescued Lees says he gave a statement to police that he passed a red car where two men were loading an unconscious man into the car. Shortly afterwards he came across Lees on the road. It's alleged police pressured him to remove the first two pages of his witness statement about what he saw.. .... .to make it easier to get the Murdoch conviction. Is it all linked to drugs. Probably. Are the two incidents linked. Probably. Is there police
corruption involved too. Seems likely if what the truck driver (who has no reason to lie) says is true. Doubtful we know the entire truth. Then there is the whole issue about subsequent Falconio sightings on Qld and his previous admission he would stage his own death for insurance. Very strange the whole thing

Addendum:

Apparently the report about the red car was never raised by Millar to police. The three statements he provided never contained reports or a red car

When doing a lap of Oz in 2011 we pulled up for the night and stayed at the Wycliffe Well Caravan Park, NT, the self proclaimed UFO capital of Australia. A little while before we got there, they had excavated the dam in the caravan park after bones were found. They were dog bones.

Key points:

  • A crime scene has been declared north of the NT town of Katherine
  • It is the second set of remains found by members of the public in just over a week
  • Police haven't disclosed the exact location of the remains

I wondered why it had gone quiet in the news today. Wth is going on? Are they trying to pressure Bradley to confess?

There was two sets of remains found in NT by the public back in October last year.

Oooh ... maybe it's following from that? I'm not sure we ever found out who these two sets of remains were.

The Lee Point beach bones have been named as

NT Police have identified the skeletal remains found near Lee Point Beach in September as a missing person who vanished without a trace more than 10 years ago. Police said on Friday that the remains, including a skull and other bones, belonged to Michael Lui who was first reported missing in May 2011.

The bones in Katherine were described as historical indigenous burial

"Investigations indicate these remains derive from a historic traditional burial," Acting Commander Kirsten Engels said in a statement

Could it be Angie Fuller?

NT Police seize items as part of homicide investigation into missing woman Angie Fuller

Northern Territory Police say they have seized a number of items in relation to the disappearance of territory woman Angie Fuller, as they continue to investigate her suspected homicide.

Key points:

  • Angie Fuller was last seen along the Tanami Road north of Alice Springs on January 9
  • The police investigation into her disappearance is ongoing
  • A number of items have been seized as part of the investigation, though police have not said what they are

Ms Fuller, a 30-year-old mother-of-two, was last seen on the Tanami Road, north-west of Alice Springs, on the afternoon of January 9. She was reported missing two days later.

...................

Not sure how we get to bones but its always possible

The Age article claimed they weren't Angie Fuller's but that article's now been pulled.

It's a bit absurd really when you look at the media use of the word "near". Then they go on to say "several hundred kilometres" from where Falconio went missing. How ridiculous. There's several hundred kilometres between Adelaide and Melbourne too, so goodness knows how many remains of nearby missing people we should expect to be identified next.

last paragraph has the cops stating no remains have been found, after inaccurate reports regarding falconio. this could be taken a few different ways in the way its written:

1. no remains at all were found, and the journos are making up stuff - that never happens right?
2. remains were found, which have been proven not to be falconios. thus the stories about the remains being falconios are false.
3. there were remains found which were falconio, but police want to keep it quiet for some reason. maybe see if BM craps his prison panties, or a chance to investigate any evidence unhindered.

so which one do we believe? ill go with number 2.

Yet they know enough about the remains to confirm they're not Angie Fuller's.

Multiple sources have confirmed to The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald that the bones have been discovered and that they will be cross-checked against the Falconio case because of their age and location.

apparently there was no damage to the skull? from the skull its fairly straight forward to get an idea of sex, ethnicity, and age. if they found teeth there could also be teeth present that angie fuller was missing.

I will go with option 3. there were remains found which were falconio, but police want to keep it quiet for some reason. maybe see if BM craps his prison panties, or a chance to investigate any evidence unhindered.......if there was evidence of it being Falconio with no bullet fragments or entry point then it will be kept quiet as, even though not one person, especially Joanne Lees, saw a gun fired or Falconio get shot, that disproves the 'crime scene' fabricated by the NT cops along with assistance from the prosecutor - Rex the Fox Wild - and clears Brad Murdoch. Rex Wild writes plays based on true crime cases and they are preformed by members of the NT legal fraternity. He complied one about Azaria Chamberlain along with many others. Play-Readings - Criminal Lawyers Association of the Northern Territory

the amount of 'human remains' that has been found over the years in the NT is mind boggling, and that seems to be as far as the investigation gets - 'found, human remains, forensic tests will be undertaken'....not sure if it's all the paperwork and actual physical effort that keeps the results unknown but there is no description of age, sex, possible cause of death etc for countless NT cases, no coronial reports - nothing. Here is just one example from 2011. Human remains found in Central Australia

didn't realise Joanne Lees interview with Martin Bashir was still on You tube - this was the first of many she did for a large fee including first class air fares for herself and whatever friend she invited for a freebie all expenses paid holiday. Well over one million dollars in all.

NT had recently passed a Law where a body needs to be found for any parole/release requests.

Murdoch would be near parole date if he did confess now but still hasn't which means...........

And who was on the parole board that urged this 'no body no parole' law to be passed? None other than the one who started it all.... ex Asst. police commissioner John Daulby.

Daulby? meh - although he DID keep his promise to Colleen Gwynne regarding her getting a huge promotion for 'finding a suspect' which saw her bypass all others and emerge as 'commissioner of NT police'

I looked closely at these boots wondering......but, no.

"
March 4, 2008 The skeletal remains of a man found in the Gold Coast hinterland on Saturday had lain buried in a shallow grave for more than six months.
Three fishermen found the body under the Canungra Creek Bridge at Biddaddaba at about 10.30am (AEST) on Saturday, sparking a police investigation.
Recent rainfall had caused the Canungra Creek to flood, which led to the remains being uncovered, police believe.
The skeleton was found with a blue tarpaulin and the clothes the man was buried in.
He was wearing size 10 Colorado lace-up boots, two pairs of socks, Jag jeans, a leather belt, a Puma T-shirt and a pair of Marks & Spencer boxer shorts.
Testing has revealed the man was aged between 20 and 50 years old, and was about 173 to 180 centimetres tall with a medium build.
"A post-mortem examination of the skeletal remains yesterday indicated the body had been in the shallow grave for more than six months," a police spokeswoman said.
Police are searching through missing persons records to try to identify the man, and are urging anyone who may recognise his clothing to contact Crime Stoppers................."
Marks and Spencer is a UK brand?

Isn't she currently facing charges of obtaining a discounted luxury cruise in return for putting another 'friend' into a top paying position without qualifications? ....one by one they all fall down, like toy soldiers....
