Was talking to megastore staff today. Some bad news. New Era has bought the copyright to the 'PA' monogram logo meaning the club will no longer be able to use it on any merch other than the New Era caps. The PA letterman jackets can not be made again.

What!?

The only way they could do that is if they trademarked it and they can only do that if they owned it in the first place.
Which leads me to believe that the club didn't create it, just sent through an order to New Era and they're now protecting "their" design.

I'm guessing bomberclifford is right and New Era created the monogram after we asked for one. Disappointing lack of foresight from our marketing team, but I guess maybe they didn't predict how popular the monogram would be.

This should be the centrepiece of our merchandise going forward. We need to cut a deal to continue to use it.

If New Era buying the copyright means that we might actually get some monogrammed beanies, then I don't care about the jacket. Anyway, it's not like we can't license it from them (i.e. give them a cut of the sales, just like we would with the caps).

Besides, the already make jackets, shirts, hoodies etc. You might find that while the club won't be able to sell THAT letterman jacket anymore, they might be able to sell a lot of New Era stuff with the monogram on it.

ISC can still make their stuff, cause they can use the official logo...so if you want the stuff that the players actually wear, it'll be ISC. Guernseys? ISC. On field jackets and warm up tops? ISC. So I bought the 2014 Members pack for the Magpies plus the NTUA scarf and t-shirt which finally arrived today. All very good stuff.

But being in Canada i need beanies. These are not an option here- they are mandatory. Which Port beanies would readers recommend?

It was a huge mistake by ISC and the club to size the guernseys for players rather than supporters. I knew, because i'd already bought my ISC home guernsey, that you had to go at least a size bigger (at least 2 sizes if you want to wear it over a jumper). I'm a medium in everything but when I tried them on it was like a second skin.

It's fine when you're buying a guernsey from a store and can try it on, but considering 1600 people bought guernseys over the net and just guessed at the size, i'd bet well over half of the people who bought the prison bar guernsey from the Carlton game last year don't fit into it.

There needed to be a big flashing disclaimer on the order form. I think if that was the case we'd see a lot more of those guernseys peppered through the crowd on match day.

Yeah, knew I should have gone for the Tom Jonas instead of the puny Wingard guernsey last year. It's hardly wearable.

As soon as the ISC guernsey's went on sale for the first time the club gave ample warnings about the tighter fitting sizes and recommended people go one size larger than they did with the Reebok jumpers. It was made abundantly clear.

And yet everyone I talk to who bought one of the prison bar named guernseys gives the same "I can't wear that it's way too small" story.

I think people who post regularly on here would have known, because we all talked about it, but there would have been way, way too many who just blindly bought their usual size.

I'm not really sure why they didn't just shuffle the listed sizes along one place to avoid this kind of scenario.

Anyone seen any of these in any Adelaide shops? I didn't see any being sold at the game last weekend. I know they sold out quickly earlier this year but I'm going back to Sydney in a couple of days and would love to get one if possible.

Im pretty p***ed that now theyve brought in more stock for the ISC range, ive been waiting all season to get a soft shell jacket in my size (L) now they have them in theres 3 games left the designs will prob chance next season!!! not really happy
