were 4-1 while not playing at our best
mal is in career best form
parker has stepped up and will be a solid contributor tgis year
mcveigh has taken Another step up and is one of our most important players, and when he has the ball in front of goals i have faith hes gonna kick the goal
aj's injury has turned into a positive as weve unearthed rampe, who otherwise eouldnt have had the opportunity to develop this year in the seniirs, will benefit us when the older brigade start retiring
grundy is playing solid footy and has improved in key areas
hanners has carried over his gf form into this season
pyke continues on his upward curve
bolton as reliable as ever up forward
teddys still got it and is building
jpk has been a little quiet but when the season starts heating up you know hell step up another notch, and with our other midfielders performing itll be too much for opposition coaches to handle
jack was a perfect choice as co captain and is back to his damaging best, and still has another gear he can step up
shaw h& lrt to come back in the team

Heard ROK talking to KB on SEN today Rohan is back training and ryan thinks he will be back playing towards the pointy end of the season great news for gary
That's fantastic ! I missed the interview and cant find it on the SEN site. O'Keefe is one of the most positive blokes you could meet, how fitting for that to be posted in this thread.

Its only 2 losses just reality is if we were 5-2 having say lost v north but beaten the cats or hawks it would look better.

But 5-2 isnt a bad start

We won the clearances swansfan51 !
Seriously?! Can't believe that based on how many times Hawthorn seemed to break away from a clearance, but wooo - first time since Adelaide in 2012

Adam Goodes. Haven't seen him move like that in a while. Probably the Adelaide QF.

Ted did a pretty good job on Buddy. Held him to nine touches and some goals nobody in the league would be able to prevent.

Kennedy had one of his better games for the year.

Jetta had his second good game in a row. Didn't let Brad Hill get away from him when they were matched up either and that is a great sign.

We won clearances 44-41 but lost the centre clearances 12-18 (which of course means we won the other stoppages 32-23)

ROK said on SEN that people didn't realise how big of a loss Rohan was to the team 189cm and quickest on our list by a long way that's fast considering we have Jetta on our list. I think the sling shot was made for Rohan and jets. I no he might not get back to senior level this year time might just run out but hopefully im wrong. But this guy is just as important coming into the side as Tippett is people might say different but with the sling shot game style we play and it has not gone to plan this year.Agree with ROK he is a massive OUT

Our team running into the finals could be ridiculously good... I don't think it will be at all unreasonable to see a team similar to this come finals time:

Fwd: Tippett, Bolton, McGlynn, Goodes, Reid, Jets
Mid: Macca, Rok, Hanners, Mummy, Kennedy, Jack
Def: Shaw, Grundy, Marty, Malceski, Teddy, Smith

Int: Pyke, Parker, LRT

Sub choices: Morto, Bird, Mitchell, Everitt, Lamb, Rampe, Walsh, White, Armstrong, Rohan, Towers etc

By that time we could have LRT/Reidy both swinging Fwd/Back as needed. We'd have Mummy, Pykey, Tippett & LRT all able to contribute in the ruck around the ground. We could put Morto as a permanant Fwd and release Goodes/Bolton into the midfield if we needed to. Don't know who to omit for Morto is all, maybe if Bolton is playing the sub role by then it could work out very well for Morto... I knwo most people will say Reid. I'm all for seeing what he can do with Tippett in the team though, particularly after giving them a good month or so to start to get used to each other.

We have a very good list of Sub choices that we could use in a horses for courses fashion. Birdy when we need a run with, Everitt when we need some height. White if we want to go way over the top in the ruck stocks. Mitchell (if fit) to provide further depth in the middle of the ground. Armstrong or Rampe if we need to realease Shaw/Mal up the ground a bit etc etc.

I'm really looking forward to the run to the finals and getting all our blokes back. We'll have a bloody handy line up should everything go to plan. We just need to hold on and win a couple winnable games as they filter back into the side. We can make top 4 from here and if we manage that then we are better than a good chance for another flag IMO.

Rohan starting if fit by then, Bolts could do the sub role very well , Mitchell also in the side ,who moves out for him I don't have a clue

Yeah completely agree. If anything, the lads who should all be coming back (potentially) into the side for our run into finals should be a good motivator for those who have their chance now IMO. Can they hold their spot when our injuries start dwindling come the end of the year? It's up to them right now to try and make a senior spot theirs.

- THIS!!!!!!

- Friday night Footy is back!!!!!!

- Rampe is a good find. He looks like a player that will play a lot of football. hard tackler, likes a contest. He gets lost a bit in matches and caught out, but there is a lot to like.

- Malceski back to his best

- Winning games playing average football is a sign of a good team. There is a lot of improvement to come.

- The young midfield bigade, parker, jack & hanners just keep getting better, and better,............, and better

- Pyke becoming our first ruck and his contested marking!

- Not quite Swans football but I am loving the fact campbell heath is playing some good football for port. With johnson down, he would been handy for us but rampe has taken his opportunity and at the time he was traded I was happy he would get a chance.
