Zorko can play well in pretty much any situation.

Zorko faced a lot of hard knocks on the way though. Constantly overlooked by afl level, repeatedly told why he would never play at afl level. That pathway worked and has built a resilient consistent player.

Here's hoping that the hard road at the lions now will produce the same characteristics in our young uns.

Browny was the reason I started supporting this club, watching him was amazing.. something I'll tell my kids about. After he retired there was an empty period but I'm almost starting to get the same excitement from Hipwood/Schache combo... Might as well tape a piece of paper over the scoreline for a couple of weeks and just enjoy watching those boys go at it! Fev/Brown 2.0.. or.. Brown/Bradshaw 2.0!

We have the young, quality KPP's for the future. Now what we need are quality young midfielders to go with them and the positive is we'll have the pick of the bunch in this years draft.

Mitch Robinson is now the standard for commitment and effort I want to see from every player. He may not be the most skillful player in the AFL or even in our team, but there are very few who play with as much real determination and passion every week.

You can say what you like about him in terms of talent, but anyone who knows football can see that he gives it his all in every game. If each of our players could do nothing else but that, we would be in a much better place.

I know I potted the NEAFL board yesterday (or whenever it was), but this li'l nugget has just turned up on there and I think it deserves a wider audience here.

Whilst at todays NEAFL game, i witnessed something that involved a young Lions supporter who was at the game with his father ,,, the boy would of been about 8 or 9 years of age.( wearing a lions top as his father was ) ... what happened is the half time siren went , the Lions players were walking off the field ... on the outside of the fence along walks Zorko ,, the kids father says , here comes Dayne Zorko ,,, the kid says to his dad ,, can I meet him / So Dad approaches Dayne and he talks to the young kid,,, not 40 seconds later, here walks coach Leppa ,, now the kid is on fire ,,, Leppa stops and chats to him,,, then comes Mayes, Mathieson and Christensan ,,, well the kid is doing cartwheels lol
Then comes the legend Simon Black ,,, didnt think the kid will know of Blacky ,,, so wrong ,, the kid put his hand out to shake Blackys hand and said ,, wow you played in 3 premierships ... !!!! Blacky spent some 3 or 4 minutes talking to him !!!
The kid will never forget this day , and well done to these Lions players for spending some time with him ,,,,

He's actually improved skills from 3 or 4 years ago as well,has a more nuanced game.Also getting into players heads in a smarter way without penalising the team.Its bloody unbelievable but the queue to El Capitano is not a long one for this Hombre

on a slight down i will be in PNG for a large junk of the trade period although that could also turn out to be a positive if i miss another GH5 type phenomena.
