I actually think Port will give the Hawks a real fright, if you look at history there's usually one close prelim and one not so close game, and I can't see North getting within 5 goals of the Swans really.

I wouldn't even care if Port won, the Hawks are getting very arrogant playing Cyril in the VFL Grand final too.

Oh, and I have tickets to the MCG game, so I'm hoping it's close too.

Port should start strong riding that wave of momentum.. such a soft spot for them now after they put the hurt on Freo.

Power by a point

Hawthorn's last five Grand Final qualifiers for those who like a bit of wow factor (ignoring 2008 because I want to).

2013 - Defeated Geelong by 5 pts
2012 - Defeated Adelaide by 5 pts
2011 - Lost to Collingwood by 3 pts
2001 - Lost to Essendon by 9 pts
1991 - Defeated Geelong by 2 pts (Semi Final)

What happened to 2008?

I'm actually tipping both of the underdogs. I like the way both North and Port play their footy and I'd love to see different teams on the big stage for a change.

But Swans and Hawks are lot more Fresh

Notice all 4 teams are pretty much at full strength ( Cyril one exception there's probably a couple more!)

But does show how important it is to be good, but also have that luck with a good injury run.

Luck or good management, but fair slice of it is luck.

Geelong had several out or injured as did Freo and they were probably both better than NM through the year and possibly Port too.

We badly need a break with injuries some year soon!

cola and hawks

would love to see Nth and Port get up. Port with the better chance of the two.

I'm also going to the MCG game. Looking forward to it. Hope the power win. Hate Hawthorn.

Who's got the bigger chance of an upset, North or Port?

Personally I think Port are.

actually really looking forward to seeing them play. Love watching them play.

Port Easily. They are the Better Side and in Better Form

GO POWER!!!

Sydney by 36 and Port by 9 points. Even though Port finished 5th I think their best footy this year was second behind Sydney's and now that they are back it's only fair the best two teams made the GF.

Sadly for Port if they didn't have a 5 week horrible patch they could have finished top but never the less they are still in a prelim final.

But Swans and Hawks are lot more Fresh

The two best running sides are North and Port. I don't think being "fresh" will count towards much. They've been playing almost every week for 26 weeks straight.

Sure it has an effect , but it can also halt momentum and mindset.

We'll see in 3 hrs I guess?

Would like to see Port get up and roll the Hawks. Don't believe their ladder position at the end of round 22 reflected where they are truly at ... Port is a genuine top 4 side and will certainly give the Hawks a run for their money.
That would be a great outcome to see the Power get up and play Sydney, I think they could be the best opponent for all remaining teams as they are quick talented and well coached.
It is going to be hard to get into a prelim in the coming years with several good young teams developing.
Our best chance maybe as far away as 2017:cry:

I think Hawks by 9 and Swans by 22
