The Swans have a problem with McVeigh. Judging by the games this season, the guy is not improving (as expected from players that have established themselves in the senior Swans team) but going backwards. Unlike his mate Malceski, who's gone from strength to strength and found a niche in the team.
I feel the problem is not with McVeigh but with Roos and the team tactics. To get into the Swans midfield, first while you could die wondering until you get your turn, you then have to be able to do the dirty work like tagging, scrapping and tackling like a mofo just like the J Bolton's and Kirk's. Even Davis has to do this or he gets dropped.
While Malceski has been able to slot in the backline and has been spared much of the work of the Swans clones in the centre, McVeigh has had to tag the Judd's and best opposition midfielders. I feel for the bloke. Its not what he is suited to. Its not where his skills are best utilised. He is being wasted and his performance is showing this.
I hope Crouch can still be used and that he is not ready to be sent to the scrap heap just yet. It could be a blessing in disguise for McVeigh.
