Work toilet visits what is a reasonable amount of time to be doing a shit. Got an employee who seems to do two to three 15 minute plus toilet visits a day. It’s a lot of wasted time over a year. I actually think he’s just on his phone as he’s addicted to it.
Seems excessive.

I remember one place I worked in Melbourne every hour the smokers would go outside for 5-10 minutes for a durry. I used to say that the non-smokers should get a bonus.

When i worked in warehouse, first ever job, almost everyone went for 3-4 smokes a day.
First week i kept working. Then i thought screw that and bought a packet of fa.gs as they were still called and when people went i joined them (upwind!) and had my lolly break

There are some shifts when I don't need to take a dump at work at all. On the odd occasion I go 3-4 times.

If it's every day then I'd probably assume they are doing it to waste time. It can be a sensitive topic to bring up though if it's a health issue.

I work with someone who has a health issue and they spend 30-45 minutes on the toilet every shift, but they told everyone about it, so everyone is aware that they are actually needing to go.

We all got an email about leaving the classroom. Not a very nice one tbh

I replied saying there's two reasons why I walk out. Toilet or asthma. And I'll get a doctor's note if you want it. Had a chat and the doctors note isn't necessary
I recall every teacher yelling at kids wanting to go to the toilet.

Worked with a guy that used to take his mobile phone with him to the toilet.

Anyone here do a compressed working week? My boss has suggested it could be good for my situation but I'm struggling with the concept.
Is that same hours over less days?

I used to do a 40 hr week in 3.5 days

Yeah 40 hours in 4 days, only I have 2 hours a week 'on call' so I only have to fit 38 hours into 4 days. The problem is I do school drop off every day and that means that I don't actually start until 9.30am (I'm on the phone in the car from 9am)
I did monday Wednesday Friday 12 hour shifts and 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday
I didn't have kids at the time
It was better than the alternative 7 day a week rotating roster I'd been on there previously

Just depends on if the schedule works for you and if you can handle doing longer days or not

Probably not great for the stage of life you're in IMO.

I wouldn't want to be working until 7.30, let alone with two kids.

Yeah I guess the option is that I log on at maybe 7am - 8.30, log off for school run and then clock back on...

I’m not a morning person so I did this in reverse. Used the couple of hours solely for responding to emails and bits and pieces that need doing but are put to one side
