You've never heard of "roofies" in any cop shop ?
It's a drug called Rohypnol that is slipped into someones drink and usually naughty and illegal things happen to the victim.
Bill Cosby's favourite pill of choice.

lol nah - I'm 15, I thought it was kind of like viagra or something for chicks:D

Yep, chicks are always roofie-ing themselves so they can get off

So Balkan hasnt posted yet, this means hes probably either dead or enjoying a really long post-coital cigar

Has anyone got iiNet? Or TPG?

Because I want to know the pros and cons of the companies :)
One thing to remember with ISPs. You get what you pay for. There is a reason iiNet and TPG are cheap.

The speed and the amount your paying for the internet :)
60 bucks a month, the speed is decent enough I suppose. I get 150 GB on peak and 350 GB off peak (3.30am to 8.30am)

My speed test doesn't have the crazy ones you see on here

Don't have a problem playing online. Download speeds are usually anywhere from 500kb/s to 1mb/s dependent on seeds.

Lol off peak doesnt start til 3:30am? What a joke.
Lol yep. And the package is described as a "500GB package".

Although Utorrent has a feature where you can schedule when you download and when you stop, so just leave the computer on all night.

Yeah its not unusual to to that, I am on an anytime 500gb plan so it doesn't affect me. Just weird, every other off peak time is 2am-6am

Even with all my trouble, Telstra is worth the cost. They have the largest infrastructure in the country, sure their support it shit, but honestly in my 8 years of being with Telstra i've probably called them twice (ignore this whole NBN fiasco I am going through currently). As I said above, you get what you pay for and there is a reason Telstra costs so much.

Potentially dumb question, don't they all use the same hardware? If so how can one ISP have quicker speeds than the other if it's the same cable running to my house?
I'm with IInet and it's sloooooow.

Think of them like roads. Telstra have the most roads in the country. Thus allowing more cars (users of internet). Companies like iiNet will use Telstra "roads" (but are more like dirt roads compared to the real thing). Telstra roads are much higher quality, looked after and can handle more traffic. iiNets are of lower quality and handle more traffic(due to cheaper plans), but less efficiently. So essentially in peak times you get congestion (which a lot of people are seeing on the NBN now by choosing cheap providers) which slows the speed down, especially at peak time.

Probably not the best way to explain it, but I feel the roads/cars analogy works perfectly.

Wouldn't they just throttle the speeds on lower end ISPs? So for example everyone uses the same highway, telstra/optus cars have 110km/hr speed limit, IInet etc have 50km/hr speed limit.

I have no idea how it works, thats just my guess.

They will at times when it's needed. If Telstra for example isn't congested, other ISPs using their roads will get maximum possible. If Telstra's roads start to get congested they will then throttle others. They won't admit that though.
