When you recontract on Telstra the actual contract termination fee itself is waived, you just have to pay what is owing on the phone. So being say an 11-month old phone, let's estimate there's about $350 to pay out (I have no idea what this is, you have to either go online or instore).

The other X amount is waived (this didn't use to be the case). You can recontract to a higher or lower value spend and still only have to pay what is owing on the phone. Of course once you pay off the phone you now own it, so you can sell it and get money to put towards what you had to spend to pay it off. It's all relative.

Cheers, will go into Telstra and discuss with them.

My best friend works for Telstra in Geelong and she said if I take my phone to them and get it sent away to be fixed three times, the contract will automatically be cancelled with no fee. But that means driving to and from Geelong up to six times, and having to deal with a shitty replacement phone each time.

Has anybody ever been able to get out of a phone contract early without paying it out? Have just over a year left on my Samsung with Telstra, worst phone I've ever had, desperately want to switch back to an iPhone.

Or would Telstra allow me to upgrade to another Samsung phone? And if so, what would the cost be, roughly?
Why's that?
I can't wait til mine ends and I leave iPhone.

in NSW it has to be on the outside of the vehicle, not sure about other states

In Canberra I saw a lot of P plates wedged underneath the number plate. Seems risky as it looked like it could drop out if you go over a bump or something, and cop the fine of $200 or whatever it is.

Call them up and say you're the father of Spitta and he is dead so was wondering whether the contract can be cancelled and if there's any associated fee's. They'll waive the fee but just make sure you don't use that same carrier again any time soon.

if you cant get out of contract, or there's too many loops to jump thru, perhaps consider using an old or previous iphone. no more problems, although you are paying for samsung phone still

Traffic question: when joining a multi-lane road are you meant to wait until all lanes are clear before joining? I get that on a 2 lane road you should wait until both lanes are clear but what about a 3 or 4 lane road?

I had unbelievable dramas with Telstra a while back, as was diarised on here if you were around - but they let me out of a contract around 4 months early.

I just said that Vodafone were offering to pay our my contract and offering me a deal on made up but believable terms and they ended up upgrading me and giving me a better deal.

also got 3 months free bill after 4 or 5 months of fighting. Which is substantial considering my bill is around $150-$230 a month*

*in b4 GD outcry of OMG HOW U SPEND DAT MUCH RE U R FARKD UP MATE

When everything is in place they are fine. But trying to get everything in place is a ****ing joke.

No? Even on a 2 lane road. Just get in as soon as there's a space.

near my joint theres a roundabout that prior to it if you are going straight through it changes from two lanes to one shortly after the roundabout.

the other day bloke was in right lane, i was turning left, so jumped in the left lane the slowed to merge in behind him.

unsure if i inadvertently killed his wife and family as i made the left turn, however the way he was going on, i assumed i mustve.

haha so

you are driving along in two lanes, while you are in two lanes, you see up ahead that there is a roundabout.

you're in the right lane, as you are going through the roundabout you notice that there is a "Merge into One Lane" sign, and just after the roundabout, you are now traveling in one lane.

Really? If someone changes lanes at the point you join and collides with you then you're at fault for not giving way to oncoming traffic.

If they change lanes to crash into you they shouldn't be on the road.

eh you're not understanding me and i dont care enough to try again haha

Makes two of us mate. :thumbsu:

What about this- is it legal to do U-turns at roundabouts?

Yes although it's not really a U-turn you're just going right the way round.

What about bicycle people on the road. Do they have to obey traffic signals? Had one this morning that decided to go straight through a red light because there was no traffic coming.
