Nothing can ever replicate sitting in a full-size cinema in 1980 (or thereabouts) and seeing the opening moments of the first movie. The now famous scrolling text setting the scene, the little diplomatic ship firing astern and then the cinema rumbling as the pursuing Star Destroyer comes seemingly endlessly onto the screen. In the pre-internet days there were stuff-all ways to spoil that for people yet to see it.
You're old.

Massive fan of star wars, any that doesn't like means that i dont likeyou either

I think everyone is missing the bigger picture here. The poor cows are going to have to cough up more in their membership to pay for ex players who couldn't kick straight. I think as AFL neighbours we should show them the same consideration that they have shown us throughout the time we have been in the AFL .... yeah that sounds fitting
I hear they've modelled some new protective gear after hearing other clubs want to take their heads off..

I have a friend who doesn't like star wars. Personally I think it is the best trilogy ever made, not that it has amazing acting or a perfect story line, its just enjoyable to watch and is better than many movies that are similar.

Of course Jedi/The Force/Light Sabers were the best parts. So if you don't like those things I suppose I can slightly understand. But not really. You're all going to hell AFAIK.

Heaven and Hell both being a place where you watch star wars all day. Its only hell for some.

I'm not sure I can recall the most recent time when both Aston Villa and Port Adelaide won during the same week. I'm not sure if there has ever been any time that both Aston Villa and Port Adelaide have won within the same hour of each other, in the same country as each other. Ahhh. :) Winning's a nice feeling, and you never really appreciate it until you've been absolute tripe for an extended period of time.

Twas a good night. Worth staying up until 4AM, not worth getting up at 7AM, but oh well. I doubt I'll ever have a moment like this again.

1000x this! It's been tough going being a supporter of these two great clubs lately and it was brilliant to see them both win overnight.

I don't agree, much as I loved them when they came out. IMO you have to judge a film and/or series on what it was when it was released and then how it has borne out over time. Using the revised names I reckon 'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope' and 'Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back' still hold up fairly well but 'Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi' was just cashing in. Just how lame were the Ewoks?
There have been a few trilogies (or more e.g. 'Jaws', 'Rocky') but even top class ones like Godfather and Terminator fell at the third one. Because I thought the Terminator franchise came up with a very good 4th film ('Terminator Salvation') that redeemed 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' I'm going to somewhat incorrectly call that the best trilogy.
BTW apart from 'Mad Max', 'First Blood' or 'Meet the Fokkers' what other trilogies (or more) are there? Not including all the schlock horror ones.
Original Star Wars trilogy....the best. That is all.
Of the two Star Wars trilogies? If so yes, you'd hardly be aware of the second one if not for the huge impact of the first.

Many will hate me for this but, in my short life. Chris Nolan's Batman, Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and Pixar's Toy Story are pretty damn solid.

Good additions. I forgot the animated films and yes 'Toy Story' would probably be at the top of an impressive series, but should they challenge live films? Loved 'Lord of the Rings' but that was just the filming of an already ultra-famous story. 'Batman', nah.
Que?

Check the post before mine.

Also, it's subjective. And Batman is in mine.

Star Wars is, and always will be, the tits. Sorry, did you just say Disney bought Lucasarts? Sheeet. Well Star Wars was the tits.

The graphic novels are pretty good too, especially the ones where they depict the old days of multiple Sith.
