I don't think anyones ever claimed him to be a great fighter. He has always been a brawler and he's proven himself to be just as good as anyone at taking and dishing out a beating... All the stupid marketing plans to try and mould him into an MMA or traditional boxer were never going to work. Plus hes a character with an interesting back story... Who doesn't like those.
