I watched Balmain v South Sydney at Redfern Oval, and Balmain v Canterbury Bankstown at Belmore Sports Ground.

Windy Hill had nothing on those two places.

I've been to soccer derbies around the world from San Siro to the the Old and New Den and some of the worst grounds in Britain, rugby league, union, gridiron and basketball, seen it all, footy is the 'quietest' sport by far (not that it is neccesarily a bad thing). Even cricket crowds are more boisterous.

A day at an AFL football match is a family outing for thousands and thousands of Port supporters.

The odd swear word is expected at a poor kick or umpiring decision etc, but organised chants should not be using any words people wouldn't say in front of their kids and grandparents.

That said if they are racist and starting fights that might not be the right criteria for them.

Hey guys, just a question that you may have an answer to.

Does anyone know where the hell Cornesy is? I know most here would probably despise him, but his absence on the sports show is a complete mystery. There doesn't seem to be any explanation released on the air, and he's been away 4 of the past 5 weeks now IIRC.

His role on the sports show wasn't listed on the bottom of his column either in the saturday paper.

Is he sick? Is a family member sick? Has he taken a long holiday? Has he quit without a trace?
